My cast iron skillet. It belonged to my great grandfather, and is older than my mom. Love that thing and use it constantly.

Another vote for Tongs.

I forgot about my coffee grinder that I use for spices. Definitely getting a lot of use for dry rubs these days.

My all-purpose Au Nain knife I purchased in Paris 18 years ago. The tip got blunted  but aside from that, works perfectly. Very similar to the knife shown on top, but without the hand-fitting handle:

my mom has a 5 inch Petty knife that one of her exchange students brought from Japan several years ago. I'd try to steal it from her, but its her fav too, and she'd notice.
I love my crock pot somethin' fierce though :) |

The remote thermometer.....the kind you leave the probe in the meat, then a cord goes to the temperature read-out outside the oven. Lets me cook to an exact temp, not have to open the oven to check.....saves me from overcooking when distracted since thermomter beeps when pre-set temp is reached...

My favorite tool in the kitchen is my cork screw. Cooking goes best if you have a glass of wine on the counter!

It took me a long time to find a good frying pan I really liked, and now that I have it, it's my favorite. I'm able to make good potatoes, omelets and chicken dishes in it.

My wooden spoon. I use it for a lot of my cooking.
