Save that Mileage Run… Buy MQMs

We wanted to give you a heads up on a promotion (similar to last year’s) that you will hear about this week in which you can purchase the MQMs you need to keep or improve your status.

We’d like to save you the hassle of having to make that final mileage run to earn Medallion status for the 2012 Medallion year. Instead, you can stay home (if you want) and buy MQMs that will post to your 2011 year-end MQM balance. From today until December 15th, you will have the option to purchase up to 10,000 MQMs which will apply towards your 2012 Medallion status. Even if you’ve already earned Medallion status, any MQMs that you earn above that tier will count as Rollover MQMs towards 2013 status.

Here are the MQM pricing options:

• 2,500 MQMs for $295
• 5,000 MQMs for $495
• 7,500 MQMs for $695
• 10,000 MQMs for $895

So, enjoy your time at home and visit delta.com/buymqms to take advantage of this limited-time offer.

Thanks,

Michelle, SkyMiles | Delta Social Ambassador

Talking New December MQM promotion-- buy MQM's

Hey Folks: Delta's just announced a new MQM promo allowing members to buy MQMs to bump up or maintain status in 2012. (Similar to the program last December that involved certain charities.)

Assuming 2,500 miles for $295.00 would they sell 5 segments for $295.00 for us segment fliers?

I don't need them, but it is the point that DL forgets about the people who earn status with segments because we have no roll over either. My100,000 MQMs cost my clients over $32,000.00 this year

I'm tempted to buy the 2,500 just to make PM before my mileage run.

Interesting offer, though it only really makes sense if you REALLY value your time at home/can't get away for a MR before the end of the year. At a minimum of about 9 cents per MQM, it's more than double the cost of a decent MR (and you're not earning RDM).

Not bad for people that need to top off. Allows the airline to sell MR seats to people that actually need it. Saves time for people that would have done a MR.

Grrr. Why, Delta... Why. Let people earn it the old fashioned way! Ultra cheap, stupidly long flights with no purpose! (Like say connecting in SLC to get from LAX to LGB...)

Great offer. Nice to have options for those that don't have the time to make a Mileage Run.
