Speaking of them, I just emailed them because I never received the 250 bonus SkyBonus points

WBurcham Oct 25, 2007 9:07 pm

I never got it either :(

How is SkyCorpDirect different from SkyBonus? Can you be a member of both? What is the point fo SkyCorp Direct...is it just so you can also book NW and CO flights too?

SkyBonus is a DL program for business that awards points based on route and revenue.

Revenue Cat. 1 Atlanta, Salt Lake City 20 points for each $1,000 USD
Revenue Cat. 2 All Other Delta Worldwide cities 50 points for each $1,000 USD

T and U classes are exempt and there a few other rules for eligible flights

There are often bonus points for certain origins or destinations.

Points are used for rewards i.e. 500 for a North America economy ticket, 800 for a Caribbean economy, and 1000 for a transatlantic economy seat. You can get an one way B/E upgrade on a YBM fare for 600 points

The nice part about this is that it is in addition to any miles earned on these flights so it is a true double dip though not at the same rate. However, the points do add up.

SkyCorpDirect, from what I gather, is tied into Adameus and gives businesses a tracking system and consolidated booking engine. Fares are the same as what appears on the DL site but includes the taxes and fees (unlike DL where they are in small print.) One downside that I have noticed is the unavailability of selecting preferred seating but I may not have figured it all out yet.

Thanks...so I gather the only extra points earned with SkyCorpDirect are the bonus SkyBonus points you get for signing up?

Yes - though a quite nice incentive.

Other than that, if a member of SkyBonus, you would receive miles and points just as if booking on DL.com though there is a 500 miles booking bonus now.

Can award inventory for SkyBonus be researched using NWA's Japan site for the O fares? Also, how are the points redeemed...in the same way as regular SkyMiles or is it a more manual process of faxing in receipts and forms, etc.?

I just requested an upgrade on the website and got a email confirmation. I had to tell them the flight to apply the award to. There was Z availability on the DUB-JFK, and I already had a confirmed upgrade. Not sure how it works on the website for actual award tickets.

For me this is a nice extra bonus on top of my Skymiles, as I'm not big enough to have a coporate rate with Delta. www.ccsi.ie .

ONE THING TO REMEMBER, IT'S FREE

WBurcham Dec 12, 2007 12:14 am

What I don't get is that I have had to email multiple times 1-2 months out because they didn't post properly (only 1 segment of 4 posted). I still don't know if I got the full points value.

Experience with SkyBonus Program?

Does anyone use this? If so, I'd love to hear how it has worked for your company. I own a small business with probably a few DL Medallions, and some other people that use DL randomly throughout the year. Seems like we might be too small for this program, but not sure.

Advice appreciated.

I joined it but am too lazy to keep up with it. We are just 2-3 people.

AndyTLe Jan 3, 2008 9:12 pm

Not that hard to sign up and use. You can add the SkyBonus number to anybody's SkyMiles number and the system SHOULD automatically add up the points.

WBurcham Jan 3, 2008 10:07 pm

I'm the only traveller in the company and like the program. However, I have to meticulously track all of my flights and about 50% of the time they don't post correctly or at all!

If you have a lot of non-U/T fare spend, it's worth the bonuses.

Think of it this way, for 20 Courtesy Coupons, it requires $3,500 in spend (which is very easy for an FO!) PLUS these are basically gratis as you'd aready spend the money.

I have noticed that. What is great is you can enter ticket numbers online to get SkyBonus credit instead of mail or fax for SkyMiles credit.

I have a small cmpany and had amassed 1400 points over the last few years. Just spend my first points (600) on an Upgrade from JFK-DUB at the end of this month. I had run out of PMU certs. You can add tickets online or email the contact address on the Skybonus website, response has always been quite good. It;s saved me 25,000 so I guess I can't complan, Might even use another 600 on the DUB-JFK leg.

I use it, it posts correctly, but have yet to use any points for anything yet. Might just use them for CRC year passes or something once I get enough or my CRC membership runs out in 2009 (now where is my card, I know I got it somewhere).
