I wish I could take advantage of this offer, but my company is already a SkyBonus member.
Here are the details... |
I have no idea what I'm doing but.......
I do own my own business, separate from my full time job. So, I just signed up. I entered a couple of ticket numbers that are upcoming trips for my wife and daughter. Seemed to go fine. But, my question is are we going to be allowed to double-dip? My wife is also a DL FF, and her number is already on the ticket. So, did I just keep her from getting the points personally? I hope not. |

Technically, the way SkyBonus works is that it is an incentive program for businesses. The SkyBonus program accrues points for the business, not the individual, so if your wife works for your company, your company gets the points. Your SkyBonus account number should be the same as the federal tax identification number of your business beginning with the letters US. Your wife will still earn all of the SkyMiles in which she has earned in her personal SkyMiles account, so in essence it is similar to (but not exactly) a “double-dip”. In fact, when you book a ticket at www.delta.com, look carefully. In the section where you enter all of your personal information before purchasing the ticket, there is also a separate area to enter your SkyBonus number, which is one method to have your company earn SkyBonus points. Once enough points have accrued in the SkyBonus account to be used for an award, the points are redeemed for whatever purpose for which the company wants to use them. |
How is redemption?
Thanks for the heads up Canarsie.
I can't see any reason not to sign up, though I'm not sure how many points I'd really be able to collect, though they are virtually giving away a book of 20 in-flight coupons. Curious though, what kind of experiences people have had with redemption. Are awards from the same inventory as skymiles awards? thanks, R |
Exclusions
The following shall be excluded from the determination of point awards under the SkyBonus Program: • Tickets not validated on Delta. • The revenue value of any flight segment of the ticket flown on an airline other than Delta. • Tickets flown prior to enrollment in the program. • Travel on Delta Connection carrier flights operated by American Eagle. • Tickets issued in the "U" and "T" fare class. Well, that somewhat reduced its value, between the no U/T and the DL-issued DL-metal-only, but I still enrolled ^. Thanks, Canarsie. FWIW, the SkyBonus # is completely off from the tax ID #... another random string to remember. I think it's definitely worth noting that a book of 20 drink coupons is only 175 points!. This is essentially 20 free drinks just for signing up ^. A PMU-equivalent is 600 points. Blah. It should also be noted that you get one point per $20 spend (again, not on U/T fares), unless your trip originates in ATL or SLC, then it's one point per $50. So I guess a book of drink coupons after $3500 spend is only fair. |
Corporate Traveler Program
Does Delta have a Corporate Traveler Program? I couldnt find one at all on their webpage? something where the company can earn miles on individual travel?
Thanks, Chris |
SkyBonus? Would it matter?
My father is a consultant who runs a network of seminars through America, mainly here in NY and on the West Coast. He, and some of his associates, travel a few times a year - enough to make Gold.
What would this do for his company? Whould it be worth it? Thanks, SR I want to tell him to join but, I don't really know what it is. |
There is no downside. I t does not affect Medallion status or receiving skymiles. YOu need a tax ID number and the benefits are IN ADDITION to the e above. I would recommend that he signs up.
|
Thanks. Just so I can let him know, what are the specific advantages?
Not to be a pain in the butt - do they use segments as points? How many points gets what? I tried looking online but I found nothing. Thanks, SR |

I've been doing this for a couple of years now. The points build slowly. I get family to give me their ticket numbers so I can enter them as well. It doesn't cost anything and maybe someday I'll have enough to cash in.

I just started this year on the SkyBonus Program, if I don't (which would be highly unlikely) make Plat and get free CRC access, I would use the points for that, or a txts or whatever, not worth the 175 pts for a drink coupon. But I have already accoumulated some points. It is worth it for a small business to have.

Great! Thanks for the info.

Interestingly, a Transatlantic coach ticket costs 1,000 points but a Transpacific only costs 750. In BE they are the same number of points (3,000).
BTW it is 175 points for 20 drink coupons. For spending $3,500 (assuming you aren't ATL or SLC based) you get 20 drinks. Basically 1 drink for every $175 spent on tickets. That ought to help me cope with the RJs. :D |
Any current experiences or suggestions?
