I appreciate the appreciation, but more work definitely needs to be done. I know that there are threads that I have missed that should be linked to the “sticky” thread, for example.

I would be the last person to take the credit here.

I have always considered the success (my interpretation, anyway) of the Delta forum to be the result of a team effort, and I am simply proud to be a part of the team.

Seriously, this may be a good name for the sticky. Everybody knows the "XXX For Dummies" series.
I've got the complete volume....:o.
It may draw more attention to the thread and perhaps, beating heart be still, people may actually USE it.

I'd like to see the 9, #, SM# trick to get around the horrible voice system added to the Delta Air Lines Flight Information section of the Sticky so I don't have to search the forum every time I forget how to do it.

I don't want to know what you did with this volume: http://www.dummies.com/WileyCDA/Dumm...764544810.html :p

That is an excellent suggestion and a reminder of yet another important way to use the “sticky” thread.

By the way, the change has already been implemented. Please see if the change is to your satisfaction, tgtg...

As many of you know, I have not been satisfied with the format of the “sticky” thread.

I want the “sticky” to be as easy to use as possible and find valuable information as quickly as possible.

I have re-formatted the first milepost of the “sticky” thread. The Dark Red Bold Text are links to the general mileposts in the “sticky” thread, while the blue text listed in the thread are the links found in each general milepost. Please let me know what you think: is the format now improved or worse than before?

If it gets to the point where I reach the 15,000 character limit in the first milepost as more information is added, I may have to re-construct the “sticky” thread which, because everything is already formatted, should not take much time or effort, as it would only be a matter of porting the information from the old thread to the new thread.

As usual, all suggestions, comments, questions, queries, ideas, constructive criticism, discussion, alerts to outdated information and broken links, as well as any other information on how to further improve the “sticky” thread (including content and formatting) are welcome.

Stupid Freakin’ www.delta.com!!!

Thanks to the recent overhaul of www.delta.com, the Internet web site of Delta Air Lines, many of the links in the PLEASE READ FIRST: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) About Anything To Do With Delta “sticky” thread that were linked to areas of the old www.delta.com are now broken.

I have fixed quite a few of them but realize that I still have a long way to go before all of the links have been updated.

If anyone spots a broken link in the PLEASE READ FIRST: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) About Anything To Do With Delta “sticky” thread, please do not hesitate to contact me via private message (the preferred method) or via e-mail.

Thank you in advance for your assistance and your patience.

Now that the FlyerTalk Frequent Flyer “Wiki” for the Delta Air Lines SkyMiles Program Basics is open to the FlyerTalk membership at large, I have been thinking about dismantling the bulk of the “sticky” thread, which would still have links to pertinent threads of the Delta forum.

With a “wiki” (“what I know is...”) set-up, anyone can go edit the information as necessary. If the information is wrong, previous versions are saved and can be used just in case.

A link to the FlyerTalk Frequent Flyer “Wiki” for the Delta Air Lines SkyMiles Program Basics will eventually be provided in the “sticky” thread.

Does anyone have any thoughts, comments or ideas pertaining to this?

Thank you in advance...

Thanks to a request by a new FlyerTalk member that was to originally result in a simple change, I have now implemented the following major change:

The song section has been eliminated due to the fact that song officially no longer exists. Thankfully, I invested almost no effort into that section.

A new section devoted to compensation on Delta Air Lines has now replaced the song section.

I hope you find this change more convenient and informative.

As always, suggestions, comments, questions, queries, ideas, constructive criticism, discussion, alerts to outdated information and broken links, as well as any other information on how to further improve the “sticky” thread are always welcome.

And i thought it's the "real DL Insider" thread which is accessible by inventation only! Those numbers aren't Skymiles promo code's?

A couple suggestions for changes to the sticky based on common questions in the DL forum.

First, I think the very top of the sticky should have something like "Frequently Frequently Asked Questions about Delta Airlines" and answer the most common issues posted about in the DL forum. For example:

-Link to SDC FAQ
-Link to threads to complain about SkySaver/SkyChoice availability
-Link to the thread about how to use your SkyMiles on partners
-Link to a new "What is XXX flight like in XXX cabin" master thread

Seeing what has been done in the Hilton forum makes the DL forum look pretty bad, especially when you try to search. So many duplicative threads could be avoided if people just took the time to see if the issue has been covered before, and with the difficulties involved with actually searching (FT's bad search engine & so many redundant threads) if there was a place that people could quickly see "Oh, that question has been asked 100x before," it would save everyone a lot of time - except maybe the person who would just rather ask the forum and let them find the info.
