MQD Head Start Not Adding Up
 

Before heading out for my Saturday night "on the town" on January 31st, I wrote down my January MQD's and it was 1542. When I woke up this morning February 1st, it was 3542. That's an increase of 2000 MQD's. But the line item under Account Activity says 2,500 MQD Headstart Bonus MQDs:
MQD Headstart: Delta AmEx Reserve Personal $2,500
I know it's still early morning; do you think this will be automatically rectified or should I submit a complaint now?
And do I submit it to Delta or to Amex?

Did you actually look at your account activity and add it up? Mine add up fine. They can post negative MQD charges if you do a return/chargeback to your card.

Just as a datapoint: Not seeing the 2500 MQD head start at all here yet (only have DL Amex Platinum card, not Reserve). Likely system is still processing. Will update if/when it posts.

Update: Checked again the morning of 2/2 around 8 AM CST and the 2500 MQDs have now posted.

Last year they were pushed out in batches and they started with the Reserve card first. DL platinum followed later. I already see my reserve headstart but not yet my platinum…exactly as it played out in 2025.

There is a separate reserve boost? I am GM with the Reserve card.

Each of the eligible cards (DL SkyMiles Reserve AmEx, personal and business, DL SkyMiles Platinum AmEx, personal and business) gets a $2,500 MQD Head Start.

In addition to the headstart mqd's?

Those are the head start MQDs.

2500 MQD per card. Not 2500 SM.

Amex "Boost" MQDs are earned via spend throughout the year. While the annual $2500 Amex per card "Headstart" MQDs post once per year.

I think you may be conflating the MQD Head Start and the MQD Boost.

Yup, seeing the exact same thing in my account (also hold both those cards)

My Reserve hit.
My Platinum has not, yet.
Same as others.

And mine all add up (actually I have more than the sum by about $500).

When I logged back in this afternoon, all 2500 Head Start MQD's from Amex Reserve were there! Yea!

Now if I can just get my Reserve Skymiles from my December and January statement closings!
They used to post within a few days from closing but for December, it's been about 5 weeks and for January, about 2 weeks.
