Unfortunately the wait time signs aren’t always completely up to date, If 9:30 Friday is the time going through security, both sides should be relatively quick. If 9:30 is flight time, north is generally quicker. Of course, each day is different. You can also use MSP reserve and reserve your time to go through security and skip any line.

Are their any plans to reopen the MSP skyway bridge security checkpoint? It has been 'temporarily closed" for a long time.

I work with travelers assistance at msp and help people check in and go through security. North versus south is time dependent, with no clear winner. Non-Delta international flights significantly slow north in the early evening. Same goes for which security line on either side. Very time/day dependent

Out of habit I tend to go to South almost automatically in MSP T1, especially if I need to check a bag or otherwise use the SkyPriority agents (perhaps to verify a passport, etc.), although North is obviously closer to the C gates and C SC. I have CLEAR and PreCheck and like the CLEAR line because most of the time I don't need to retrieve and show ID.

Use the TSA checkpoint at the hotel, no pre check or clear and only if you have carry on luggage. It’s open from 5-10am . Never busy I have uber drop me at the hotel vs normal drop off
