Partner elites are eligible for day-of-departure upgrades except for AM elites who are eligible for window upgrades. I doubt the AM window upgrades would work on partner marketed DL flights (again, due to the OU/SU booking class issues when flight is not DL marketed). The gate upgrades likely don't change your booking class on the flight (they basically just move you to a higher class seat) and so they don't run into OU/SU booking class issues.

The only point would be to select the window or aisle C+ seat before they are gone.

Although chances for the C+ upgrade at T-24 are decent with platinum status, because some of those ahead in the priority queue will be upgraded from their C+ to F seats
