Parking at GRR

Hi I was just wondering how difficult it is to drop a passenger off at the gate and
then have to exit the terminal section and go to park in the long term lot. Hubby uses
walker and it would be easier to drop him off then go park but not sure how congested the
area is there

Very easy to go around. If you park long term in the garage it's a very easy walk back to the terminal. If you park in one of the cheaper outside lots it's a bit of a hike back to the terminal.

Thanks for the reply
Was thinking of the north lot as it is quite a bit
cheaper than the parking garage BUT with the walk
not sure now

All lots at GRR start out as $2/hour, up to the maximum daily rate. So for a short stay of just dropping someone off and helping them to the gate, you'll pay the same whether you park close or park far away.

Or are you traveling together but planning to drop him off first then go park the car?

Is just driving up to the departures area and dropping off your husband to then wait just inside the entrance doors while you go park the car an option? We've done this when we have a lot of luggage and are returning a rental car or parking in an economy lot. I'll drop my wife off at the departure level and she'll wait there while I go park the car then we head inside and proceed with check-in and such.

re

That is the option I was thinking about

We will have 2 smaller suitcases or 1 lg one not sure yet
I could just leave him inside with those and go park then and
it would be no problem?
I have a wheelchair set up for getting through the airport and the ATL airpot so
that will not be an issue

Yes, I would recommend that approach. Even if you park at the far lots that are cheaper, the few times I have parked there I have gotten a shuttle back pretty quickly. They have been in my experience good at identifying people getting in and sending the shuttle out to them. There is enough space inside and I believe if memory serves there are chairs and whatnot to sit at.
