I'm not following. The link posted and that I replied to listed the following as the order for upgrades:

1. Elite level
2. Booked cabin
3. MM status
...

So a 1MM Gold on a LUT fare is higher than a non-1MM Gold on a Y fare according to that chart. Once you hit the third tie breaker (which literally broke the tie between the two Golds in the coach cabin), the rest is irrelevant. MQD for the year is further down the tiebreaker rank.

Under the new system, what are the overall odds of complimentary upgrades as a Diamond/2MM. I'm guessing I would get upgrades on 99 out of 100 flights.

This made me laugh... really?

Whether or not DMs typically get upgraded is highly dependent on the route, day of week, and time of day, as some flights are vastly more DM/360 and MM heavy than others. On my regular transcons out of ATL, I've had to use my RUCs to get upgraded as a DM 2MM. If you want to know whether you'll clear under the new rules, wait until after the new year and see where you land on the UG list. With the new upgrade priority, I'm hopeful that I won't have to buy F as I've been doing, but until I try I won't know.

Agreed... question is what is the purpose of "Booked Cabin"? Unless they're planning to start treating C+ as a cabin, which they haven't to date...

In terms of marketing materials, it has been referred to as part of Main Cabin experience. However, I wouldn't assume they are necessarily following the convention here. It seems a bit pointless just to add a separate tie-breaker just for the small handful of domestic PS flights. It would be pretty straightfoward to do an experiment in the new year (with refundable fares) and see were people rank based on purchased MC, C+, fare classes, MM status, etc.

I suspect that current CY MQD’s will be irrelevant, as Reserve card status and corporate booking are respectively #4 and #5. Otherwise, MQD’s will have a few day delay to be accurate- I highly doubt that Delta IT can handle MQD’s in real time.

Also includes “paid upgrade” as C+ is an upgrade for the #2 tie breaker.

You missed the word “not”. I’m guessing I would not get upgrades on 99 out of 100 flights.

Why is this? Give it an other year that DL revamps 360 similar to UA GS or AA CK.

[QUOTE=flyerCO;35689444]C+ is not its own cabin. It is an "enhanced experience" within the main cabin. Confusion has rained on this for years. DL acts like it is a separate cabin to control upgrades. However they've been clear it is not.

In my humble estimation, 2 extra inches and sometimes a free "beverage" is not an upgrade!

Wishful thinking. I'm diamond and closing in on 3 million miles and my upgrade % this year is 49.67%.

T was formerly lowest fare class (before X/V classes were added). Only Y/B/M fares got instant comp upgrades (the old Plat upgrade certs could confirm at time of booking with K+ fares).

It's a small handful now, but DL has expansion plans for domestic PS. This is DL's future plan to make you buy PS in order to get complimentary F, laid out in black-and-white. Some have argued that they're doing the same thing in the meantime with C+, and I don't have an opinion on that because my opinion counts for nothing.
