It is not about consensus, it is about the published rules.

SkyTeam+ (not DL flight) have SC access in F/J to/from Canada (among other locations).

There is no provision providing access for SkyTeam+ on a DL-operated F/J flight to/from Canada.

Please show the published rules for access when in Y to/from Canada and cross compare them with actual experiences. There is no rule or standard practice. There are many threads on this issue with no conclusion.

You could Google the term "Delta" and then look under "lounge access" as I have just done here. Follow to the word "POLICY" and you will see a breakdown for access by those with SC Membership, those accessing by class of service, and those accessing based on status as well as whether it is DL status or ST status or operated by other than DL.

https://www.delta.com/us/en/delta-sky-club/access

The reason that there are many threads is that just like baggage allowances and waivers, upgrades, cancellation fees, and SDC, there are threads asking what the "policy" is which are then followed by any number of people popping off that some agent or another did not follow the policy in their case. Sometimes to their advantage and sometimes not.

If the question posed is, "might I possibly be admitted," the answer is "yes." I can say that without knowing membership, status, or class of service because somewhere there is bound to be a SC agent who lets one in, no matter the policy.

Well, thanks for pointing out the policy that FT has debated time-and-time again. That was the exact point of my post. The policy for SkyTeam+ on a Y class ticket specifically includes access for traveling to/from Canada. Yet, there appears to be a lot of internal policy that the gate dragons point to that prohibit access for Y cabin, SkyTeam+ members, traveling to/from Canada (and Mexico). The bottom line is that the DL rules are not very clear and it is not always simple to figure out as you originally stated.

Interesting about lifetime membership, glad to read that in print. Purchased mine in 2008 the week Northwest and Delta became one airline. I wasn't sure I should spend the money for it, but it has worked out well. Sometimes I have to explain that I can enter the club when I have a ticket from a different airline.

It's some sort of bug where it gets added to some of my posts, and even shows up when I try to edit and delete it.
