Is there a chance in the event of an IRROP, DL books the OP on a flight to another airport on the West Coast that has later flights to ICN on KE metal? SFO and LAX both have service to ICN that take off later in the day. (sure, this risks the original connection at ICN if ICN isn’t the final destination)

If I don't have time to stop by duty free, then the connection is too short.

try to get on an earlier flight to SEA. i have done those 45 minute or less layovers in seattle a couple of time. not by choice. we made it, but i was panicking big time. that's the last thing you need before your international flight.

Just curious, but is there a different connection option with a better layover in perhaps LAX or MSP?

I know in Asia, tight connections like these would have grand staff picking up then dropping off the passenger from one gate to the next. Will DL or KE have this service in SEA by any chance?
So long as your flight is on time you will have no problem. I fly out of Seattle at least 1-2 times a month, there is a tram that will take you between the main terminal and the South Satellite should not take you too much longer than 10-15 minutes

Thanks for all the response.

The routing I was looking at is PSC-SEA-ICN for September. The PSC-SEA segment is on Delta Connection, and is offered either as a "DL" or a "KE" codeshared flight. This routing option appears multiple times (various combinations of KE and DL flight numbers) on a search on both the DL and KE web sites.

If I book this with all "KE" flight numbers (whether codeshare or own KE metal) on the KE website, I get Prestige Class/ DeltaOne for about 3.5K. If I book this on the DL web site, price starts at 3.7K on the same routing! LOL There is an early morning Delta Connection departure at PSC, but for some reason, it does not appear as an option at all on the KE web site, and only on certain days on Delta (and that would actually give me 6H+ connecting time in SEA).

I am no stranger to MCT flights, but this was on AA to AA, or AA to CX in either DFW or LAX several years back. I have never been met at the gate. (But of course when in Asia, I have often been met at the gate by ground staff, even with over an hour connecting time! CX would usually escort me to the nearest lounge.)

I’ve done a similar flight connecting from MSP-NRT. Ran from gate to gate and *just* made it. Exciting but not fun... Since then always leave 2H for layovers over water...
