Last numbers of the year finally posted:
Flew Upper Class VS quite a bit from IAD and that added a good amount of MQM and RMs.

How is the IAD-LHR flight in Upper Class? Seems like there is always decent award availability on the route.

Since I knew I wouldn't make the DM MQDs, my travel was scaled back a bit this year -- a couple of times I combined trips where in the past I would have made two separate trips. 95K MQMs, 20 MQS and 5K MQD. Zero Medallion upgrades for the year. Used 3 RUC between LAX/JFK and 3 GUCs over the water (have one of each left to use in Jan/Feb). The new Delta metal LAX-AMS turned my 2 and 3 hop trips into 1 or 2 hops so fewer domestic segments.

I am 100% leisure and pay for my own travel.

But the language says "Card Members who earned the Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQD) Waiver in the current calendar year", so is that 250K for DM?

No. It has been confirmed by CORP that the spend waver for medallion upgrades tie-breaker remains at 25k for all medallion levels.

I think it’s best to err on the safe side and put $250K on your DLAX card(s).

That is some amazing record keeping. I... am not that thorough. Or consistent.

I kept the DL AmEx just for the companion ticket.

I do wonder how many DMs have held DM since they introduced it. This will be my 9th (?) year in a row as a DM, since whenever it was introduced.

430k of that MQM is rollover. So I guess I just skated by on that number as well (likely will hit the full 125k by my last flight this year).

even with the rollover, where are you flying to rack up those MQMs??

I use openflights to keep most of the info, then I export to a google sheet and keep track of some other stuff (gate numbers, fare buckets, etc).

Stuff I haven't been tracking that I will start tracking in 2019:

* runways
* delays
* whether upgrades clear at the window or at gate, how many people on the upgrade list and how many clear at the gate

That can't be the best use of $250k+ in card spend, can it? Clearly you don't need to hit the MQD waiver, so isn't there a better card out there you can put that spend on? Or maybe you just have $1MM plus in card spend a year and you're already doing that...

There's no getting through to him, he previously claimed it was "too complicated" to use more than one card
