Hurricane Florence Travel Waiver

Are we going to see one? When? What dates?

AA / WN / B6 all have them out -- UA and DL look like the hold outs for now with WN having the only waiver that extends to Wednesday.

Flying RDU - LGA on Wednesday night and would rather play it safe and fly up Wednesday morning / afternoon since we're connecting to a separate itinerary Thursday night from JFK.

I'm in the same boat. Have a SAV-LGA flight that's guaranteed to cancel.

DL just posted a waiver for Olivia in Hawaii but that doesn't help here.

Actually SAV may not cancel. Looks like it's heading north of there.

If I had an RDU Wednesday night I would call and throw myself on the mercy of the reservation agent. You might get lucky!

Just to circle back -- I had a break in the work day and decided to just do this instead of waiting for a waiver and the lines to get flooded (and the seats to be booked up).

Shockingly the PM line was only a 3-5 minute hold. Agent was more than willing to move us to an earlier flight as an even exchange -- even with my wife on a separate PNR (as only a Silver)

I'm sure a waiver will be coming soon for most of the Carolinas and probably Virginia too.

Yes, Wednesday should be the last good day at RDU.

I'd be willing to bet they will issue the waiver within the next 12-18 hours.

True but in my case connecting to separate ticket on Thursday not worth the risk.

Biggest concern for RDU is when they start moving assets out of the area to keep them from being in the storm combined with cancellations on Thursday / Friday that push people onto Tuesday / Wednesday flights.

Either way -- thanks to DL PM line for me but hoping they get a waiver out there soon for others in a similar position -- certainly looks like it's going to be a significant event here in the RTP area.

Agree that I think that RDU will be fine Wednesday - it's not supposed to really get dicey there until late Thursday night - but agree that there is always the possibility of operations getting irregular before the weather does due to prep. With that said, Delta is pretty good about not screwing with flights until they absolutely have to. I bet they will aim to have a cancel-free Wednesday and cull the herd on Thurs/Friday.

Lol, someone at Delta doesn't know their airport codes. Jacksonville, NC is OAJ. LIH = Lihue, Hawaii.

Surprised CHS isn't on the list. I'm flying in on the 14th from ATL! Was hoping it wouldn't cancel, haven't been on a MD88 in a while.

Would rather know ahead of time so I can cancel and rent a car.

+1
Looks like a cut/paste error. The third airport in the Hurricane Olivia travel waiver that was also issued today is LIH...
