guy on call does not intend to say anything but then call gets heated and boss demands answer from person (knows he is on call)

While I couldn't care less what other people listen to with their earbuds I do have a problem with people abusing the system by using high bandwidth apps ( video, audio, maybe calls) that will degrade my paid for service.
It's bad enough as it is.

2Ku is designed for this. In fact I believe Gogo touts video and audio as reason for purchase on 2Ku planes. However any of the older versions, agree that it's a bandwidth hog.

Audio is not a "high bandwidth" app by any stretch.

Audio is NOT a bandwidth hog at all. you can get by with a dialup connection for audio, but you need low jitter otherwise your latency will be so high..... It will be clear but the delay will annoy the hell out of you.

I have cricket wireless (you can role eyes now), I need to login into my vpn via a phone call, accept call and hit # sign. amazingly, it works even without paying for wifi on my phone. I do pay for it on my PC. I just connect to gogo, and accept the terms and I also login into messaging on my iphone. But the vpn call comes right thru.

Audio geek speaking here - Opus vocoder can handle inflight calls incredibly well. It's designed to handle packet loss or delay. I honesty didn't know it's not permitted and had joined concall for an hour with the occasional "yes", "no", and "that's fine" and no one complained.
