Hurray for SEA-IAD. What does the +1 mean after 0615?

Red eye. Leaves SEA at 10pm and arrives IAD 6:15 AM the next morning.

I’ll gladly take it westbound but it looks like I’ll be sticking with AS going east...avoid red eyes like the plague
SJC ORD LDR likes this.

Interestingly, it's not timed to feed the Asia hub, but to be mostly an O/D route. I'm guessing that DL has a corporate contract supporting the flight.

I expect CVG-SEA to go year-round next. Not sure why it isn't already, since that flight usually runs with 90%+ loads on a 752.

Maybe...but my guess would be that for now they are testing the waters on the market. AS and UA have had SEA-WAS locked down so far, and since UA has only one red eye, DL might have thought another would have the best loads compared with competing against a bunch of AS, WN, and UA during the day.

It times pretty well for Asia going West at least...

Oh, and it would not shock me to see AS respond by adding a redeye as a result (BWI maybe?)

This could be interesting since there's no Delta Sky Club at Dulles. If you have a Sky Club membership you have access to the Air France lounge, but this is still kind of a secret as I've never seen many Delta passengers in it. However, the early flight time means the Air France lounge is closed, which sucks. So, you'll need Priority Pass membership to have access to the Turkish lounge, which opens daily at 6 a.m.

I would imagine upgrades on this route would be easier than elsewhere.

IAD upgrades are very easy, although I suspect that DL won't have much trouble selling FC.

Will be interesting to see what the response, if any, is from AS on the IND-SEA route. My info is that Delta has wanted to do this route for a while but AS beat them to it.

What did you expect it to be on?

UA is running 2x 739 on SEA-IAD tomorrow.

AS is running a 739 SEA-BWI, and 2x 738 on SEA-IAD.

There's a Spirit 319 to BWI.

I do everything in my power to stay off of 737s. I would go down to LA or through Atlanta. I only fly 37s if there is nothing else that will get me there.

KC to Seattle is now a 3 carrier market - WN, AS and now DL. I believe they added another NS MCI-BOS, as well. WN needs some additional competition at MCI, for sure.

No joke even the 1st class cabin would be somewhat miserable for that length of the flight.
I fly the 800 from ATL-SJC a couple times per year and definitely not a great ride.
