I take it this also means no more A330s?

I'm not sure how "new" this news is... I remember looking at flights for next year and only seeing 763s (no 764s, no A330s), so I suspect this has been in the works for some time. Presumably SFO will continue to see a mixed fleet (or at least continue to see the 75S), suggesting whatever the big value in "standardization" is, it doesn't apply to that market...

I suspect the real value is that the 764s will have a significantly better product than the 763s, and they don't want to "waste" it on the TCONs (which is too bad, because I'd love a W product for those flights).

Unfortunately at the same time it seems like JFK - SFO has become all 757, seems like DL is keeping the premium focus on JFK and LAX but dialing it back on JFK - SFO (understandabe given UA's strong position).

Mostly news for J/D1 (better seat though 2-2 instead of all-aisle) but bad news for Y. Iprefer the 763/764 with 2-3-2 vs. the 3-3 of the 757.

I don't think it's so much that UA has such a strong SFO presence as they don't fly from JFK, but that DL itself has a much stronger presence in LAX for onward connections. Australia, Hawaii, and several Asian destinations. Where JFK/SFO on DL is basically pure O/D.

JFLKLAX is 78% local while JFKSFO is 85% local.

6 hours in 2-3-2 versus 6 hours in 3-3. This is a no-brainer, 767 for the win

I think for both of those routes for DL (and AA, B6, and UA from EWR) it's all about the front of the plane.

Still waiting on BOS/SFO to be reintroduced as D1, now that Delta wants to call Boston a hub....

Odd that they released this today, TPG reported on this many months ago on the JFK side: https://thepointsguy.com/news/delta-...300er-jfk-lax/ - makes me think this is more about 764s internationally ex-BOS, with the rest of this thrown in.

I've done this on the 330 a few times which is a much better trip in every cabin, but there's no doubt I'd take 2-4-2 over 3-3 any day in the back.

These trips are so short that if I'm up front on an overnight, I don't really care about the old IFE and things, I just want to lay flat and go to sleep, so this is probably a net win over someone climbing over me while I try to sleep.

With the 763's all equipped with Gogo Gen 1 Ku (slow) internet vs 752's with (mostly) quick 2Ku, if one had hopes of getting work done where wifi was needed, the 752's were far preferable. Are there any plans to bring 2Ku to the 763's?

I always pay a premium to fly D1 on the 3pm A330 flight. Its now gone. Thanks Delta. I checked a random sampling of dates in March and April and its all 76W. Guess im going back to AA F now.

You'd have been better off with AA F all along, frankly...

What kind of crazy logic is that? SFO-SLC, SFO-SEA, SFO-LAX, SFO-MSP, SFO-ATL, SFO-DTW are all hub routes. None of them are D1.
