I have a good friend flying WN tomorrow Houston to MDW. He normally gets precheck and has no TTN and doesn't have it on his boarding pass for tomorrow so maybe they are finally scaling back.

Someone in my office said the precheck line was pretty long at DTW but thanks to Clear now being at DTW she only had a couple people ahead of her at the Xray belt and she said the people knew what they were doing but one of the flyers had a PM tag on his bag and she thought the other lady was with him so he would know the rules by now and if his companion wasn't a frequent flyer I'm sure he versed her on what to do

I've personally noticed PreCheck lanes much more emptier in comparison to the last couple years ^

Contrary to what you may believe -- this isn't a dictatorship where your whining about the administration will ban you from a government program....as opposed to if you were an entity trying to get tax exempt status from the IRS during the last administration.

I disagree but will hold back to keep this in this forum.

Is there an echo in here?

Yesterday I flew from SFO>SEA>HKG and, for the first time since TSA-Pre was introduced, I didn't get it, even though I have flown over 15 flights this year already. However my wife, who is an FO Medallion, and hadn't flown in six months, got TSA-Pre! What's up with that?! Fortunately I have CLEAR, so I was escorted to the front of the non Pre queue, otherwise my wife would have had to wait even longer than she did!

Ok??

I want the special line for HK citizens when clearing immigration where you just show your ID card and walk right through a gate but unfortunately I am not a HK citizen. If you are not a citizen/do not qualify for the expedited benefit why should you get it? I am not receiving preferential line treatment in HK.

That would be like everyone getting the diplomatic passport so everybody can go to the diplomatic immigration line to go through faster....

That's what I was thinking as well. I'm only 45 minutes from DTW/Windsor, ONT so it's very convenient and Nexus would come in handy on those rare occasions when I fly to Montreal but I would have to wait until I was in Montreal or Toronto to get the iris scan since that is required for Nexus when flying and they don't do the IRIS scan at Windsor/Detroit.

Only problem is that my Chase credit card will pay for GE or Precheck but not Nexus:(

You don't have GE now and NEXUS brings GE along with it. I think it's inconceivable that either NEXUS or GE won't give you more value than just the TSA program over the next 5 years, and I also think that it's worth it to you to pay the $50 for NEXUS over the 0$ (net to you) cost for GE. Remember these things are valid for 5 years and the next time you go to Montreal you do the iris scan and then you use the kiosk for all your Toronto and Montreal flights - and not just for the rest of the 5 years, I guess, because I had no interview when I renewed in 2014 and my wife didn't either. We didn't submit new fingerprints or anything and the card showed up in the mail.

Million Miler Diamond here has had PreChecpk on every flight I can remember for years. A few months ago I accepted Delta's free CLEAR program and since the have been without pre-check 9 out of the last 10 flights. I thought it was the CLEAR thing until I found this thread.

Went to apply for paid TSA Pre-check today ---- hope it goes thru quickly.

I know it's my responsibility to know about things like this phase out, but I think Delta sort of dropped the ball in not more specifically notifying us.

oh --- and I agree that this should cut down on the clueless in the pre-check line.

gll

Clear is pretty awesome for the price :).

I have global entry which means I get Pre-Check as well. I wish they would finally get rid of all the first time flyers (NOT A JOKE!) I have in line with me when I do TSA.

Clear + Pre yesterday in ATL; associate went thru standard TSA, took him almost 30 minutes. No lie, from putting my fingers on the Clear scanner to through the magnetometer in under 1 minute. :D

30 minutes is terrible. My worst is 15 minutes on the Monday morning 6A rush through the line at DFW (term C), and TSA at that terminal seems to clear at least 200+ people over that timespan.

+1. I hate giving the government or anyone else money, but it's well worth it for precheck, it just dimishes the value for those of us that pay for it when we get stuck behind clueless travelers who get it at random that haven't paid for it.

Precheck is well worth the price for me. I love having Clear for free but their rates aren't worth the benefit received.

ATL TSA Pre is the longest I've encountered. That is outside of SEA. :(

I don't think ATL is too bad now that they have clear but I always fly back on Sunday's (I wish they would put a Pre line in for connecting from international at ATL).

The worst airports for me on Delta are EWR (they never have the precheck line open) and ORD
