I had a 14 yr old niece from Hannover come over to MSN with a friend. We were not permitted to book late flights with the chance of a misconnect - - there had to be 'protection' in the form of later possible flights available on their itinerary.

The hand-off & reception, with signature, is iron-clad. You have to be there to drop off, with the papers all signed, and the person designated has to be on the other end to pick them up.

In between, they get lots of kind, caring attention from FA's who love being a mom. The girls thought the one odd thing was the lounge at Schiphol (they are required to stay in the lounge designated for UM's) - - because of all the little kids there. They found it sweet though.

Basically - - everything well thought out, excellent care, great service. It's good value really, for all the personal care involved.

Thank you. Most people here know that I would never imply such a thing.

I don't know one way or the other, which is why I asked.

FT is a funny place. People complain about PDBs. First Class upgrades. GUC upgrades. Service standards. Meals. Lack of meals.

But, you mention that you feel a UM waiting 1+ hours for immigration; when that has never been an issue in the past... is horrible... and well, people don't see that as a collapse of a service standard. Like I said, not the biggest deal in the world.
This might be a good point, if the "people" complaining about PDBs and upgrades were the same people who don't think 1 hour in immigration is a crime against humanity. But just anonymize them all into a vague lump of "people" and you can easily make any criticism look like hypocrisy.

I can't imagine why anyone would think you're making broad-brush generalizations about non-citizens when you make broad-brush generalizations about FT posters.

I have a hard time believing what some posters post about procedures when they can't distinguish between things like "then" and "than" as an example (not you!) i.e what else are they getting incorrect?

I stopped critiquing grammar. I make too many mistakes, personally, in haste.

Not sure how this thread got off on the discrimination tangent. That was never my intention. I also would never imply there was any discrimination angle.

I don't believe that there is reason to continue posting in this thread. It has wandered so off topic that it is no longer salvageable.
