IME, in general, this depends on who is checking. If it is airline staff and the line is reserved for a particular airline(s) then you will be turned away. If it is contract airport staff and more than one program uses the priority security line, you can basically flash anything and say you have access and you will get in. Just for fun my spouse once used his employee ID: he showed it and said "we get priority" and the staff person waived us through.

I know about no Pre Check for international flights as the same is at SFO. Tis is why I am allowing 4 hours to checkin and clear security. Hence this is why I am doing the dry run.

Thanks to the helpful souls here on the DL forum its now going to be painless.

Yes all *A (excluding UA obviously) including Air China use a combined checkin position at the end closest to T3 and the VA/VX checkin counters. (Sorry don't know north/south position of the airport)

One helpful piece of advice. If your partner in travel isn't needed to help with luggage, have them stay inside security and go through the tunnels to TBIT. If they need a wheel chair they can be brought all the way over in one.

Also good luck with Air China. Don't know if you've flown them before but they have a habit of "losing" both reservations and the eticket needed to fly the reservation. Hopefully all goes well.

Lots of good restaurants in TBIT.

Agreed. But the prices kinda take the shine off the whole experience. Last time through, I had a tuna sandwich (as in tuna salad, not sesame-crusted and seared) and it was something like $23 with a soda. It was good but, really, twenty-three bucks for a sandwich and soft drink? :td:

Thanks for the tips. We are part of a group your and our tickets are handled by the tour operator. If Air China looses our ticket how can they be part of *A?
