Regina is sentimental to me, as my parents and I spent two nights there in 1963 (I was eight then) when we made our epic drive from Alameda, California to Fremont, Michigan (entering Canada via the Seattle-Victoria car ferry that ran in those days and leaving Canada at Fort Frances, ON/International Falls, MN) as my dad accepted a promotion and relocated to the headquarters of Gerber Products Company.

Also, as a fan of the late and lamented Baltimore CFL Stallions, the Stallions won the Grey Cup at Taylor Field (Mosaic Stadium) in Regina in 1995. The next year, they relocated to Montreal, and the Cleveland Browns moved to Memorial Stadium and became the Baltimore Ravens.

As to Saskatoon, it has a thoroughbred race track called Marquis Downs. I also think of the movie Slapshot where part of the soundtrack was a 1975 song called "Just a Little Bit South of Saskatoon" by Sonny James.
