Longest waitlist for RUC???

Well, since this forum is for complaining I figured I better do my part.

Last October I applied a 2 GUCs for PHX-JFK-ATH For the outbound.

And for the inbound applied 2 RUC's JFK-PHX.

The GUC has been cleared for months all the way through.

But the JFK-PHX leg still shows 1 seat taken in J on a seat map, and the flight is next month.

Getting kinda frustrated.

Any thoughts or words of wisdom anyone can share? DL says they are coded correctly and they can't do anything else until RM releases them.

I've never had a RUC clear in advance. All my GUCs have.

My RUC experience is otherwise; they have cleared in advance about 1/3 of the time.

Most recently, in late February I booked a CLT/ATL/LAX trip for a weekday, day time trip early May. The RUC for both legs cleared within seven days of my making the reservation.

Does RUG ever occur at time of booking?

I've cleared RUCs on JFK-SFO-JFK flights in advance. Two on the same flight even.

Well the flight is in May...so not too far out.

Still, not a high percentage.

Mine have all been ATL-SFO or ATL-LAX, all Sun/Mon/Fri travel, and all have gone to the gate. They haven't always cleared and I have always had to ask for them to be manually reinstated as they always show closed after the trip.

They usually have a rug in front of the boarding area that says Sky Priority :D

... it seems highly sensitive to day and time. e.g. months in advance with both front cabins completely empty on the seat map (insert standard disclaimer) the phone agent indicated 6:xx am departure had immediate inventory, 8:xx am departure would have to waitlist (which I can understand from an RM standpoint even if it's irritating)

Don't give delta ideas. There will soon be certificates if you want to board on the blue rug. WRBR.

It will be an upgrade based on availability. There will be a new fare class for boarding over the rug.

If the space is available, then RUCs can clear immediately. I've had them clear as soon as I called to apply them.

Same here...multiple times.

You can also call and ask if there is current inventory before you book (and as PM or DM ticket it right there on the phone for free if you want). I did this recently to select an ATL-SFO leg where the certificate would clear immediately.
