?? AA and UA do a snack service on that flight in Y and the usual in F??

For me, the Delta Shuttle is the best option between LAX and SFO. Comfortable, wide E175 seating, complimentary beer and wine, and Luvo snacks. The other carriers run mainline jets with no real differentiation of service. Delta treats the route as a premium one, while the other carriers just treat it as any other route.

You are very badly mistaken. UA, AA, US, and NW did away with free snacks about ten years ago. Delta and Continental were the only legacy airlines to still provide free snacks.

I've experienced the delays on this one myself. It's made me miss connections, and has given me an equal number of close calls. Still, it's fairly reliable and the prices on the route reasonable enough.

it is because of SFO and LAX has bunch of delay to start with, the airport prioritize longer flight that is already in the air then shorter flight and sometimes require them to stay longer in the origin airport.
also sometimes when a little delay has happened, they realize the next flight has enough space (which is one hour later) they cancel the delay one and just put people on to the next flight |
OP doesn't even know why his flight was delayed. Not worth complaining about unless it's some unique DL fail.
As to the snack, it amazes me that people will book themselves around a smallish nibble, even if it's somewhat tasty. Can't really be that desperate. Maybe it's just the thought of something free. |

Try LAX-SJC
Better weather in SJC most of the time Only real option is to be able to get put on an earlier flight that's been delayed to your original departure time or reroute to OAK or SJC (co-terminals). |
However, with BART now at SFO, that airport is much more convenient if you're not renting a car.

2) The BART train goes to OAK now - although I haven't used it. Last time I was there, I could see the station all lit up. I was told it was opening in a week or 2, and that was months ago. |

But, both BART to SFO and the people mover to OAK are quite expensive. Also, BART only goes along Market St is SF. If you are anywhere else in the city, a cab or ride sharing service make more sense. Also, if you really wanted to, you can take Caltrain to the Santa Clara station to the #10 bus that will drop you off at both Terminals of SJC. The bus is free. |

1) I absolutely HATE the SFO BART train. It's overpriced. I feel cheated every time I hafto use it, because, for example, the fare to Millbrae - which is BEYOND SFO, is cheaper than the fare to SFO. I use the SamTrans bus whenever I can. It's MUCH cheaper, but they have severely cut back the service.
