Good luck. I'd call.

I spent several hours on the phone with Delta yesterday, trying to accomplish this very thing. One agent said that it could not be done, another agent said that it could however their system was dated and they had to contact another desk to complete the process. Dear Delta please pull it together and update your CSRs systems as well as your website :td:

Had to call twice. The first rep said it's not possible. The second rep had to get help desk. Overall, it took about 40 mins.

Called in and tried to do this. Some rules the agent pulled up said that it looks like it should be able to use it as a payment, but the system kept asking for the redemption code, even though they put it in on the previous screen.

It wasn't worth the time trying to fight it, so I just paid with a credit card.

I had a transportation voucher for $200, and I started by entering its number and then looking for a flight (that's how Delta website suggests one should do it) . There was no warning that such voucher couldn't be applied to award flights, but in the end the only payment option was the credit card.

Called the DM line the first time around to make 3 award bookings to Canada and use a ~$50 eCert that was expiring shortly to pay for the taxes & fees. First rep initially refused saying it couldnt be done. When I pushed back she collected all my info, then called to a "helpdesk" and then came back and said it couldn't be done.

HUCA. Second rep said he had done it before and needed to call someone. Kept me on hold to confirm. Came back online and collected all the details took a really long time and then again came back and said that that ability is no longer available and must be a change in policy. Asked if I wanted to continue and make the bookings using a CC. I pressed about the eCert that was expiring and he said that he would make a note in the cert that he was unable to use it on an award booking and to reissue after it expires. Seemed pretty reasonable to me. Also since I didnt have the patience to try and third time, I decided to go ahead.

I just wish that there was a consistent policy and messaging. After all the eCredit was from a previously cancelled ticket for which DL already has my money.

Going through the same crap right now. Taxes and Fees come to over $280 so I'll be dammed if I can't use my e-certs.

Certs can be used to cover the entire amount of award ticket taxes, but must cover the entire amount. You can't use a cert to pay for part of the taxes and a card for the rest.

You also can't use a cert for a Miles and Cash booking.

This cannot be done by frontline reps, and can only be done by award ticketing support.
