DL App problem for iPhone
 
As of 3 mins ago, I still can't check or change any of my seat assignments for any of my flights. Is anyone else having this same issue? I feel like this has been an ongoing problem for at least a week, if not longer. I've called DL IT support, and all they tell me is to delete and reinstall the app. Btw, that didn't solve the problem. So now, I'm left with an app that looks pretty but lacks an important function.

When you re-installed, did you get the latest version, 3.3 (I'm assuming you did)? This was supposed to deploy a bug fix for the problem you descried above. There are a few threads floating around about this very same issue so you may want to have a look at those for further troubleshooting ideas.

You're not alone. I have v3.3 and still can't view seat maps.

I have the new version, and the seat function--even seeing the seat map--isn't possible....

Someone mentioned in another thread that this only affects PM and DM. Do you fall into this category? Either way, you'll have to wait it out until Delta fixes the issue on their end.

This problem has been off and on for the past 2 to 3 weeks. It has re – surfaced with a vengeance over the past couple days.

Same, DM. iPhone app reports "technical difficulties" and will not display seat map.

As a GM (wife is a FO), we can see and change seats with no issues on iOS. Pretty strange

Same issue here. DM status and no ability to see map on my current itinerary via the app. I updated the app last week and have had trouble ever since.

I have found mixed success in accessing the seat maps on a flight-by-flight basis rather than using the "next flight" button or the "select seats" button from the home page or in My Trips.

Can't see seat map for upgraded segments
 
I have app version 3.3, and was able to see the seat maps for my flights this week...until I got upgraded for the first of two flights on Monday. Then I got the "technical diff" message for the first flight, but could see flights 2 through 4 for the rest of the week. I got a message last night that I have been upgraded on my last flight of 4...and now that seat map is td'd as well.

My consistent problem with the DL app for iPhone is a bit different. I updated to the latest version of the app each time. On 5 of the last 6 flights, I have changed seats at T-24 hours (at check in, as a Silver Medallion) to switch to economy comfort seats.

The switch has worked each time, but in those 5 cases, the App continued to show the OLD seat every time I opened up the boarding pass link. This still happened after rebooting the app multiple times, and even the following day.

I could still print out a boarding pass (from my computer) with the correct new seat, and could likewise do that at the DL airport kiosk, but the DL app boarding pass was never updated to the correct seat.

Am I alone with this quirk?

I'm at a loss as to what I should do next. I told the DL IT people about the glitch; they said that the problem is with my phone :rolleyes:.

The functionality of the DL app really goes down when you can't even see or change your seat assignments.

The DL App on my iPhone is now displaying the proper seat availability, even Row 1, and no longer displays the "technical difficulty" message on certain sectors on the same trip. It now matches exactly the seat map on 'My Trips" with "Book A Trip"! Hope this isn't temporary!

Exactly! That's what I do to get around it. Saves aggravation, although my app is now miraculously working. Seems Delta IT have managed to fix my iPhone.....

Now I can't even login anymore to the app but can on the Web .....app says incorrect information yet I use the same info and log onto the Web no problem.....delta it gets a big f plus from me

Not sure if it pertains to this thread, but was unable to change from 12A to 10C on a MD88 yesterday through the app, after a DM got bumped! I was #1 out of 8, with 0 seats remaining! :D However, since it was very close to departure (they just started boarding the PRE-BOARDS), I assumed that the GA took control and I won't be able to do it anyways. I politely asked, and she gave the seat to me! Probably not the app, I guess?!

This happens to me occasionally depending what wifi connection I am using. The other day, I was trying to log into the app while connected to a Marriott wifi and I couldn't log in. Turned off wifi to use 3G and was able to log in, no problem. This may not be the cause of your issue, but something to be aware of

I've experienced the same thing - as late as an hour ago and going back until last week. About 10 different flights.

Also to post #18 - this has been the same for me (as a DM) for as long as I can remember.

Even if it works for GM and not Diamond, remember you now get higher priority boarding than GM. 😇

Last week my Delta appon my I phone 6 stopped working. I deleted and reinstalled the app a few times and still no luck. It opens, trys to update and closes?

I have not been able to connect my Iphone for months.

No help from either DL or GoGo tech support.

Mine was working fine yesterday, as expected and seemingly with exactly the same functions as before. Mine is the elderly iPhone 4 (S?), international version.

I posted this more than ten months ago, but the problem remains. I can change seats using the app, but the new seat refuses to show up on my phone, or on the boarding pass on my phone.

Not the person you're replying to, but it affects both the boarding pass in the app and, by extension, the one in Apple Wallet. That said, when you go to board using your old pass, the machine at the gate will print out your new seat assignment, just as if you were upgraded, so I don't see it as an actual issue. Maybe in an ideal world the boarding pass would update, but there are certainly much larger IT issues that DL should be focusing on.
