Drinks in F/BE: What's your pleasure?

Same as title. What's your pleasure when flying F, BE?

FlyingCOS Mar 30, 2015 12:02 pm

I'm probably not the norm but I just like a Baileys in my Starbucks. Does the trick for me.

rfett2 Mar 30, 2015 12:04 pm

Drinks

Morning Flight: Screwdriver

Afternoon/Evening Flight: Woodford and Sprite(Wish they would serve vernors from flights that originate from DTW.)

GRALISTAIR Mar 30, 2015 12:35 pm

Woodford on internals. Champagne on overseas.

a7800 Mar 30, 2015 12:49 pm

Woodford for my PDB and during my meal. Bailey's on the rocks with dessert.

fliesdelta Mar 30, 2015 12:50 pm

Club soda with a lime wedge.

jamesteroh Mar 30, 2015 12:54 pm

If it's a redeye I do a double bailey's on the rocks for the PDB to knock me out.

Otherwise it's Coffee and Bailey's, fresca and vodka or coke zero

Georgia Peach Mar 30, 2015 1:07 pm

Baileys

SEA-Flyer Mar 30, 2015 1:14 pm

Frankly, Delta's drink selection sucks. Gin & Tonic is the usual choice for me, because it is the best of the available choices.

Improvements I'd like to see:
More / Better mixers
Better scotch
Improved liquor in international business class. Its basically the same stuff that is available at the back of the bus.
Craft beer on all flights. The beer selection on international flights is bad.

I wish they would add Kahlua since I like white Russians. I would also like to see better wine in first on long hauls.

vgb2001 Mar 30, 2015 1:58 pm

Woodford & ginger on domestic flights,
wine (champagne for aperitif, then red usually), and cognac (desert) for international.

berliner5000 Mar 30, 2015 2:03 pm

water. or orange juice on a morning flight.

TWToKM Mar 30, 2015 2:11 pm

White wine, Bailey's on the rocks, and/or water.

mattya9 Mar 30, 2015 2:12 pm

Tequila and Fresca with a lime wedge. Quite refreshing and tasty! I think that's one of their signature drinks.

OPS 5

Ben and Jerry Mar 30, 2015 2:13 pm

G&T, lime

Grouchy Mar 30, 2015 2:20 pm

TATL: Chaudfontaine at start and during the whole flight.
Depending of what Delta serves me a red wine or Champagne during meal time. After that a Port with my cheese & fruit plate please.
Woodford at settling in and after meal service during the rest of the flight until supply lasts (most of the time i try to bring some pure chocolade with me, love it together with a Bourbon or whiskey)

USA: Dasani water, Cranberry/apple with ice or a Woodford.

Proost!

cardood Mar 30, 2015 3:25 pm

Woodford with a few rocks or Heineken usually. Red wine w dinner.

Looks like the OP is shooting for the Usless Post of Day award

But it looks like you just stole it from under his nose.;)

readywhenyouare Mar 30, 2015 3:40 pm

Vodka and club soda. Sky requires a lime though. If DL had something nicer like Ketel One the lime would be optional.

dknn Mar 30, 2015 3:44 pm

Bourbon Breeze - used to be one of the featured drinks back around 2011 (Woodford, cran-apple, and splash of OJ). Anytime I order this in a casino, servers think I am nuts.

pbarnette Mar 30, 2015 3:54 pm

Woodford for just a drink.

In international J, I will switch to wine if there is something good on the list. If nothing good from the still wines, the Jacquart is okay for sparkling and I will sometimes have a glass or two. Other times, I will simply stick with Woodford.

I would note that, contrary to what others sometime seem to think, DL's wine choices are usually decent enough for business class wine. Most of it isn't stuff I normally drink, and some of it dips into the supermarket category, but that is what business class wine is on pretty much every carrier. DL rarely insults you with the wine list (though Gosford Shiraz comes close, and they usually have one pretty cheap white on offer).

AANYC1981 Mar 30, 2015 3:58 pm

I actually really like the Margarita! I have that on the ground in the afternoons and wine once in the air. Bloody Marys in the morning, but not too many as there is so much sodium in that mix!

avidflyer Mar 30, 2015 4:00 pm

Bloody Mary's any time of day or night. I like the nutritional value :)

azeckel Mar 30, 2015 4:16 pm

I'll admit that I order a Sky Breeze from time to time. Usually have to explain it even though it's a "signature drink": Vodka, Fresca, splash of Cran

Pharaoh Mar 30, 2015 6:33 pm

Bloody Mary mix in the morning and dry red wine any time else.

burbanite Mar 30, 2015 6:51 pm

Usually Woodford on domestic. Yesterday on AF CDG-LAX it was:

Champagne for the PDB. G&T's for my thirst quencher, red wine with lunch followed by port then Cognac. Back to G&T's for the remainder of the trip.

droidcore Mar 30, 2015 7:20 pm

Loved those Medallion Signature Cocktails pushed last year, especially the Platinum Takeoff (1 part Woodford, 3 parts cran-apple juice, Splash of club soda over ice). 'Twas always difficult to find a Delta Mixologist familiar with it when ordering by name and I'd just end up looking silly ("yeah I'd like that thing you've never heard about"). I started carrying the recipe on my notepad, then it just seemed to become a hassle to order.

Now I'll just do a Woodford on heavy rocks.

Start_at_UIN Mar 30, 2015 7:43 pm

Baileys in the coffee pre-10AM. Beer if they have Sweetwater 420 till about 2PM Woodford Rocks after 2PM.......depends on my mood and what I have to do once @ dest.

Felixishim Mar 30, 2015 8:31 pm

Baileys with ice cream on BE :p

Two Bailey's knocks you out? Do you mean two full sized bottles?

Honestly some folks are just made different I think -- if I have more than 2 drinks on a long flight, after about 1 hour I get a terrible altitude hangover. On the ground these things never happen, only when I'm on a long flight. This is even as I slam water (see thumbs up above) :)

Robbyb03 Mar 31, 2015 4:54 am

No wonder all these flights run out of Woodford! Can't you guys drink something else?!? DYKWIA?!?
