The fact is, awards are NOT better for me this year. I fly MSP-MSO at least once/month. I know what the normal redemption is/was. It's now been consistently higher.

I've had great award luck and love the visibility of partners with the re-vamped system. I guess our luck cancels each other out...kind of a wash.

And with certain airlines becoming CIA level secretive, we'll never really know... Aside from the limp imposed just how bad things are becoming.
Maybe folks won't need their metal status placards anymore. Just find those walking with a limp in the airport...

0 for 6 DM in Jan, turned DM late DEC, all last year was platinum, previous years, EP and DM since 06...

Just like they wanted, I started just purchasing full J last year for most trips, same poor service. Might as well fly the the most convenient carrier first class fare you can find, loyalty means zero and Delta will gladly show how true it is!

I use at least 5 award tickets a year and have never paid more than 25K for domestic travel round trips. Yet this year the only 25K awards that are available are during weekdays (mid week).

Everything is 40K miles now and above.

Take a look at award availability to the EU then...

No, it isn't.

Stop trying to bring FacTs to a FighT

I mean I have 0 upgrades so far (TPA-LAX)... which is OK with me as I know its hard to get upgrades on Cross country flights... but 0-16???? Im never higher than 10 on the upgrade list... and there are always about 60 people on it LOL.

Next... We get way less miles now... suposedly we would be able to book 25K RT Award tickets much easier now... hell no... every flight I look for is 40K miles.

Is it me or are the glory days really over now? I mean its been getting worse every year but lately its just really really bad.

TPA-LAX is a tough upgrade. I take it once or twice a month and as DM if I clear the upgrade its at the gate and i'm typically the last or second to last seat. Last time I got one they pulled me from my Y seat after boarding and moved me up. As a PM/GM I only got that UG once and it was on a Sunday morning.

Tampa is hard to get upgrades out of in general. As a DM with reserve card I don't think I've ever been upgraded on a Monday AM outbound or Thursday afternoon inbound in the 2 years I've been flying delta from the area. That TPA-LAX route is extremely difficult to get upgrades on during common travel times as it is Deltas only direct west coast route from the area and they only run it once a day.

It's only Feb 23rd and you are complaining about being PM and no upgrades. Try NO upgrades out of TPA in 2014 as a PM... I quit even hoping that I will get one...

They are over. It's no secret, Delta has a publically issued metric that it wants to sell 80% of its FC seats. That inventory has to come from somewhere, namely, free upgrade inventory.

That's only for 21 days and closer to departure. You can find 25K further out.

Could also be a spring break thing. Most trips to/from Florida appear to be pricing higher on weekends through about mid/late April. After that, looks like there is better 25K availability for weekend travel.

Thee "Glory Days" were over September 11, 2001. That changed the entire paradigm and the recession drove the final nail in the coffin.

I'd disagree... it was still pretty good for several years for those of us that were still flying a lot when airlines were throwing promos left and right. Remember the double/triple mqm and mile promos? I agree it was the catalyst for the changes, but upgrades and awards were easy to come by then, until I'd say around the 2010 time period.

My oh my, shows how out of touch I am becoming (less and less interested in reading all the depressing stuff on FT) - I didn't even notice this (that the status reset moves to Feb. 1 instead of Mar. 1 come 2016). Then I did a search and found a OMAT blog noting this was put in the T & C in January of 2014 (not 2015)!

It's just as well, I'll take status going forward if it comes naturally, but I ain't chasing it anymore for sure!
