Offensive delta.com Screen

As a person who lives in the Bay Area and is originally from New England (Go Pats!!), what on earth is delta.dumb thinking in openly rooting for the Seahags?

Doc Savage Jan 22, 2015 6:12 pm

I'm not seeing that when I bring up the site.

In any case, I'm not seeing that when I bring up the site.

I have the screen shot, but I have no idea how to attach a photo to a post.

I thought that was weird too -- especially given the large number of ex-BOS flights DL operates!

Delta probably doesn't like to root for cheaters. :D

You mean the team that leads the league in PED suspensions?

Because Delta is building a hub in Seattle, they are official sponsors of the Seahawks. It's a competitive market up here, and they had to keep up with Alaska Airlines, who named Russell Wilson their "Chief Football Officer".

I think highlighting that sponsorship on their homepage is reasonable, and would probably stop short of calling it offensive. But they probably should be geotargeting better to areas where the Seahawks are popular...

Just be glad Delta picked the Hawks to sponsor - I'd rather not fly an airline that underinflates the tires on their aircraft :D. (Ducks)

Here's the link to the offending page.

Hey, DL also is the charter airline of the Patriots, so I would think it's a win-win for them this year at the Super Bowl.

I'm more offended you can't post a screenshot :D

Yep, you're right, that is offensive.

Ledfish Jan 22, 2015 7:58 pm

Well, since the Falcons aren't in the superbowl, they had to pick someone and they might as well go with a HUB city.

I really hope you're kidding. If you're seriously offended that DL is doing this, you need some Valium. Actually, you need lots of Valium. I'm a sports fan too, and life is way too short for me to get upset over which airlines are promoting my favorite teams' rivals.

To paraphrase the enabling crowd "Get over it. It's just a football team. It's not a wife." :D:D:D

At times like these, I am glad to live near Philadelphia. This has somehow relieved me of any temptation to get all wrapped up in allegiance/loyalty to a sports team.

BTW... unlike some, I recognize your post as tongue-in-cheek. At least, I hope so. ;)
