The goal. Now you need to spend a lot on that AmEx, which is a nice problem to have.

Mine just posted - approx 18,200 MQM

They don't send new packets for each level if they are lower than your current level. They also don't send a new packet simply for requalifying for your existing status level until the beginning of the new status year.
However by March I will "instantly" earn Plat status through Feb 2016 once I spend enough on my Delta Amex (since I rolled over more than enough MQM). So I'll probably get a silver packet in end Feb/early March of 2015 (this year) and then get a Plat packet whenever I spend enough on Delta Amex (around middle/end March) |
Has everybody got their rollover ?
Mine appeared around Jan10, then disappeared a few days later |
Rolllover and DM-gifted GM
Have an odd question I'd like to get everyone's feedback on.
I gifted someone Gold Medallion as one of my DM choice benefits. They had ~8k above the FO threshold which was set to roll over. It's now the middle of March, and the new GM has flown 10k miles, but there is still no rollover showing. Long story short, if a DM gifts someone status, does it automatically wipe out any rollover miles a person would have had towards that status? Thank you! |
They would only rollover any in miles in excess of the gifted status level (above 50K MQM's in the case of Gold). They must also meet the Gold MQD threshold (unless exempt). So, yes, by gifting them Gold you would wipe out any rollover MQM's they would have earned as a Silver above the 25K MQM level. This is covered in the T&C's.
"Members who receive complimentary or gifted Medallion status are ineligible for rollover MQMs unless they earn more MQMs and Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs - U.S.-based members only) than the gifted status requirement." I assume you gifted them status before the end of the year. If you had waited until after the end of the year, they should have likely received rollover assuming they exceeded both 25K MQM's and $2.5K MQD's for 2014 to make Silver on their own (note you need to meet at least Silver MQD threshold to get any rollover). |

I actually waited until early February to gift the GM status. The rollover of course should have happened, but DL IT being what it is hadn't actually landed in the customer's account yet. The recipient had absolutely earned Silver legitimately (well above MQD and MQM). Guess I'm calling the Medallion line again when I get back to the States. Thank you. |
If you didn't make the GM gift until February, then the recipient was FO on December 31/January 1, right? Then rollover should be based on FO requirements. Are you sure the $2500 MQD or waiver was satisfied?
|
Agreed. Seems like everyone here had their rollover post by February. I'd double check to make sure the Dec 31 MQM and MQD's totals met the requirements. Remember, MQD's don't post until flights are flown, not when they are purchased.

So, in short, you and LBJ both believe he is owed his rollover MQMs as he'd legitimately earned them (and his MQDs) before January 1, regardless of whether or not they were actually present in his account when I boosted his status? |
Yes, rollover is based on MQMs on NYE, corrected for late year flights that haven't posted by NYE (including if the late flights change the person's status level). The concept is that it reflects exactly what the account should have looked like on NYE. Good luck explaining to DL how this happened. [I would calculate MQDs to double check before bothering to try to have this fixed.]

My mother STILL hasn't had her rollover of 21K post despite a couple calls

Absolutely positive. It's my father, and I walk him through buying all of his tickets and answer about 20 questions a month about his SkyMiles account. He was absolutely and positively FO on Jan 1, 2015 on his own travel spend and regular TATL BIS miles. I know his rollover hadn't posted by the time I comped him GM, but I couldn't wait until March 1st as I needed my GUCs.
