Delta owes you a no questions upgrade on your next flight no matter what fare code you are booked in. Period end of story. You did such a commendable thing.
If it were me I would negotiate with the Flight Attendant if this guy refuses to leave first of all give me the entire first class service meal( I would ask her to give me a choice before Mr. 2A as I did not plan on not eating) and everything, unlimited alcoholic beverages etc, and to send a note to Headquarters so that I can get a confirmed upgrade on my next flight with Delta without any restrictions and possibly some bonus miles. Good for you for keeping your cool. |

I just had to report back to this crew that as my BP was scanned for DTW-AMS on Saturday night, a new boarding card printed out for an op-up to 5C. They were a bit over in coach and was the most fitting way to cross the 1MM mark which happened mid-flight.

OTOH, if I were Mr.2A and felt I had the seat rightfully, I would have probably put up a fuss, too (probably wouldn't have gone the DYKWIA route with DM and all).

I commend you for your consideration of the other passengers! A mix up for sure, but you took the high road.
I think there should be a thread about class acts to go with the don't you know who I am one. |
My theory:
Mr 2a was always in row 11, but he was Roman. Mike |
I applaud the motivation to take the high road (if high road and coach belong in the same sentence) but nice actions by the 99% embolden the 1% who act up to get their way. And then get their way. Didn't work when mine were toddlers, shouldn't work once they are big boys.
