To some destinations, there are partner or other flights from NRT or HND in the early morning.

Looks like the above 5 flights ex-NRT all left on time, except BKK that was CANX! Yikes! . . . . and of course, tomorrow morning's BKK/NRT was canx!

At NRT, changing terminals is a pain. Also, if someone gas upgraded with a SWU or GUC or miles, will they be put into business class on the rebooking with another carrier?

I'm guessing no.

FUGU works great when it works. But don't high-rev and C get tfer to partner west coast red-eye departures? If they ask?

If I understand your post correctly, while C etc. passengers can be rebooked for asking onto the west coast connections to NRT, the problem is that to start in MSP and take these flights typically requires an early morning departure to the west coast gateway. So by the time that a delay on the MSP-NRT nonstop is announced, it's too late to use these possibilities on the same day.
