The SC in T has a cubbies for luggage. I have left my luggage in them countless times. They're right next to the reception desk.

This sounds like the best suggestion.

Was thinking I may also just exit at F (connecting flight is on a separate PNR so I could always just pick up the bag there and check it back in) take the shuttle to the international parking lot and have road access there...

Either way lots of great ideas. Thanks all!

That is one nice thing about DTW the Westin has a gym pass you can get for $15 and they have a showers with soap.

Wow I didn't know that. I have a few 3 hour layovers coming up there soon... Maybe I'll be healthy instead of drinking a ton of booze in the sky club and surfing flyertalk. Nah that doesn't sound nearly as fun.

I was told (once) at the T-gates SC that the receptionist and Delta are not responsible for the integrity and security of the items left there. I recall I also saw a note along these lines.

Personally, I would not leave my stuff there, particularly valuables.

You get extra cardio points for jogging and dragging the luggage behind you. :D

I don't hold them responsible, but frankly, the odds of anything being snatched from the SC cubbies is beyond minimal. I'm generally cynical about stuff like this, but I honestly don't see it being an issue. Guess it depends on what you travel with as well.

Better idea...

Have three Woodfords on your inbound flight and chill out in the SC with some high end cheese product and cheap liquor. Then, when you get to LA, you can do the "guilt workout" 30k run.

:)

Walk in the basement between the terminals. Then climb up the stairs/escalators instead of standing.

Depending on when you're in ATL, the walkway between Concourse E and Concourse F will be nearly empty and a good place to run. You could combine this with the underground tunnel from T to E. I've walked to every gate in ATL on a 3+ hour layover before and it's a nice tour of the airport.

Alternatively you could do as was suggested in an earlier thread and visit every SkyClub in ATL.

^ Perfect place for the OP's mission. E-F connector is a ghost town. Do laps around there and no one would care. No ATL first timers, or confused pax looking for the escalators around A-B-C.

If you have 2 bags and lock them together with a wire lock (in a way that would make them awkward to carry), there is 0% chance anyone is going to walk out of the Skyclub with your stuff.
