Airbus A320 seating

Regarding Delta's Economy plus seating, we are on the 5 hour ride to Detroit on one of these and they offered us an upgrade to this section. Looking at row 4, it is bulkhead but somewhere, can't find where I saw that, I recall reading that instead of a wall, it's a curtain, making for nice legroom. If this is the case, would seat A and B be "easy out" seats for when we need to get up for the restroom or is it still a tight squeeze to get past your seat mates?

We generally take an aisle and middle cause taking a window is tough for this little old gal and means I have to ask both mates to move out in the aisle for me to get by. (No, I'm not big :p) 4'11, 111 pounds ;):D;):D

Oh, almost forgot, Economy Plus, I see more legroom and early boarding, much else to it to make it worth the extra $59?

Indeed its just a curtain, not a wall like B738's in the fleet. You should be able to get up and out even if seated in the middle or window. IMO, these are the best EC seats in the domestic fleet.

As you whether it's worth the extra cabbage is subjective.

$59? Depends on how long the flight. It looks like you said 5 hours so it might be worth it.

The 320 has a curtain separating Econ comfort and first class. However I don't think there's enough space to climb over the aisle person.

Just flew it twice last week. Just a curtain, no wall. Row 4 is awesome. Aisle gives you a ton of leg room.

Thank you all for your replies/help. I do appreciate it.

+1

As stated before, the first row of EC on an A320 are nice seats. Are they $59 nice? .... that's a matter of personnal opinion and depends on how deep your pockets are.

I personnally would not pay $59 extra for a 5 hour flight, but I have no qualms with bothering my row-mates to allow me access to the aisle.

The legroom is generous in this row but the seat width can be tight for some because of the immovable armrests.

Thanks. And thanks for that link. I missed it in my search before creating this post.

The good thing about these seats is you can put things under the FC seats in the row ahead of you .... the bad thing is the tray tables are in the arm rest, so the seats are a little narrower.

In the pre EC days, Mrs Bob H and I called them F minus.

Agree these, along with bulk head on DC-9 and MD-80 are the best seats. Only minor issue is that the restroom is all the way in back, and you will be blocked by the cart for a good while, though the F attendant has always allowed me to come up to use the F restroom (I asked first, lets not make this thread about the issue of Y pax using the F restroom, as this conversation has already been had about a thousand times).

I just was in 4D on FLL-LGA -- very nice seat with good legroom. Worth $39 (including priority boarding)? Eh, maybe. As mentioned, the fixed armrests could make it a little tight in the hips for some. I think if you're under a 38" waist it'll be fine.

What really shocked me about this flight, sitting in that seat, was how AWFUL the first class product/experience looked. I can't speak specifically to FC seat comfort, but the seat backs were thin, the pitch was relatively tight for FC, and the TRAY TABLES WERE IN THE SEAT BACK IN FRONT OF YOU. In first class! Really tacky. Like I really enjoy having my seat banged by the person behind me opening and closing the seat back tray.

And then, the catering appeared to be a measly snack basket with chips and some bananas. On a 1:30pm flight, which should be within a lunch window on a 3-hour (blocked) flight. On my way down, AA served a choice of salad with salmon filet or chicken wrap on a 3:30pm departure, well outside of meal time.

There's no way I would ever pay for FC on DL on this route/aircraft.

I'm doing JFK-SLC in FC soon on a 738/752. It had better be better than what I saw from FLL, or I'll be pi55ed!
