Did delta change coffee vendors again?

Two planes today... Both undrinkable...

Maybe a Bailey's would make it palatable...

Kind of reminds me of the Chris Farley coffee switch fake commercial on SNL in the 90s

Maybe the water tanks need a good cleaning.

Dukes of Bombay would drink English Breakfast tea - not coffee. I have no sympathy;)

Thomas Hudson Jan 10, 2013 3:57 pm

seriously... it was foul. I really feel bad for the guy who paid for First Class sitting next to me. He paid for the service and still was served coffee that tasted like they got the water from a puddle at the PPG Plant in Westlake, LA...

Granted, the guy who paid for first class was on a P fare and his ticket was $240 less than mine, but I am not one to let facts get in the way of a good story...

I know the Delta web liaisons will be by this thread promptly to update us....

Note to DL: please ignore this thread. I really enjoy those early morning flights when I have the opportunity at first light to taste some of the finest juices of cardboard our country has to offer. I'm wondering if some of our FT regulars have overlooked the subtle yet pervasive notes in that exquisite brew of cigarette ash and rural asphalt.

Maybe the pot touched the toilet on the previous leg.

donnak Jan 10, 2013 5:45 pm

Makes me not want to drink their coffee any longer.:)

+1. I drink about 6 adult beverages a year, and they are ALL this...not enought time to get a real cup before boarding the aircraft, but really needing some java...and spoiled from the home Saeco machine.

And hopefully kills the germs in the splashed up toilet water.

I'm sure that hundreds of them are all racing to be the first rep to post here.

You didn't fly on United by accident did you?

qvzn Jan 10, 2013 7:20 pm

IME whiskey makes a great coffee mate...

Regardless of the airline, I have never, ever, had good coffee in flight. First class, business, coach, morning flights, afternoon flights, short commuters, coast-to-coast, the coffee has always sucked.

And I'm far from being a coffee snob.

But airline coffee is just... well, it's just not coffee.
