I don't know the Delta rules but I know my family rules. If this was my wife and kids I would be getting off the plane asking her "How did you enjoy your first class seat Sweetie?" :-)

I think it would be funny to scoff at and mock your wife and kids as they walked back to their non EC coach seats as you sit in FC enjoying a double Woodfords... hell, you may want to even give her a slap in the rear as she goes by... just to show you care...

We don't know this person's situation. The OP could be an extremely large person of size, have claustrophobia, or some other problem that demands a first class seat, while the other spouse and kiddies may not have that problem.
