Besides, OP wasn't denied boarding, he was merely denied the luxury of a jet bridge connected to the aircraft.

OK, I could be wrong.... BUT, I don't read it as the OP was looking for compensation. I think the question is what happens if the OP gets back into the terminal and the GA who scanned the BP was gone. Another agent will look in the system and see that the OP's BP was scanned and should be on the plane. Is the OP allowed to take the next flight.

I could be wrong, but one would think the agent working the flight would remain in place until the jetway was back in place, those operating it were back in the terminal & the plane pushed out. |
I don't get how the agent scanned him in to the flight. Doesn't the flight have to be closed and give the printed manifest to the crew before they shut the door?

SOunds like you need to get that 40 yards dash time down below a 4.9...
In which case he should have thrown his carry-on into the doorway and delayed the door closing. The length of the jetway should be no problem. |
My first thought when I read the OP's scenario was for their safety. The OP should definitely write DL and mention the flight number and date. There is NO way that the OP should have been let on a jetbridge that was about to move. That is definitely a violation of FAA rules and DL rules.

No. He just didn't pay the jet bridge fee. Next time he knows, he will have to pay the jet bridge fee.

You admit that you were very late, the DL people stretched their rules for you but you still were not able to board the plane, so you appear to now be interested in obtaining compensation as if you were in total compliance with DL's policies.
Amazing! |

No harm, no foul, and he should be thankful they at least let him try. |
