Ones current milleage accrual does not play a factor in deciding on UG's does it? is this new? so two PM vying for the same seat and all other things being equal the one who has accrued 120,000 MQM's will get the UG ahead of the one who'd only accrued 80,000 MQM's to date?

Not unless DL has changed their upgrade priority criteria very recently. It should be based on elite status level (not MQMs), fare class, DL Reserve card, and time of upgrade request.

I'm already mourning my lost DM benefits (higher UG% and SC membership) as I will likely make 115k and can't go higher unless I do a major MR.

Wow I think I have finally got the hang of multiquote

I am one of those. Will be sitting on 124K MQMs after by Christmas TATL home. I figure that will give me 49K rollover and so easy to get PM for 2014 with some rollover for 2015 too. If I did a 2.5k mqm purchase to get me to 125K or even change my TATL routing to go via AMS - yes I would be Diamond but probably only Gold in 2014. I would prefer to be PM - PM rather than Diamond-Gold.

However, I am a little intrigued but I think I know the answer. IN the extremely unlikely situation of two PMs vying for the same upgrade, both on the same fare - let us say T, both having DL Plat Amex both booking at similar times, both OLCI at similar times, the system would NOT differentiate between the PM with 75k mqms and the one with 124k mqms?

It shouldn't and having the DL Plat credit card doesn't matter either, only the Reserve card.

The final tiebreaker is time of upgrade request which is normally time of ticketing, presumably recorded down to the second by delta.dumb so having a tie here should not happen.

It has never happened to me but I have read of others on this forum being 100-1000 or so miles below the next status threshold but Delta has given them the higher status (and no rollover miles) anyway. If this is true sitting at 124,500 miles may not be a good thing. Can anyone confirm this?

There have been very few reports of this since rollover started, although courtesy status bumps were common earlier with both PMNW and PMDL. The one I can recall after rollover started is MikeMpls.

Nice

Good news, but the earth will move until you hit DM.

Huh? Having more MQMs doesn't give any upgrade priority beyond status.

Maybe he means PMs who requested UG first? Otherwise doesn't make any sense...

Ok, that makes sense. I think I'll do the same, though the idea of a quick turnaround to LHR with 1-day in London on M-class + my last 2 SWUs sounds like a lot of fun. :D

I will hit PM tomorrow a few miles from ATL on Dl07 dxb-atl. You think I can ask for an EC refund later? Maybe prorated for the last 100 miles?

No chance.

You can certainly ask for it. You might even amuse someone at Delta.

That was certainly a joke. I messed up my calculations anyway. The flight from DXB put me at 74,818 MQM for the year. ATL-MCO put me over the top, ever so slightly.

I'm 5K away from PM and a newbie here. My husband has no Medallion status.
I don't know if it's worth it to shoot for getting the 5K or let the 20K roll over to next year??

To me, its all about how much you anticipate flying next year. I'm going to finish up this year right around 70k and will drop back to GM. PM has been really nice, but I will probably be traveling a little less next year. I'm playing it safe and keeping GM for another year rather than doing an PM-FO drop. So, if I would say if you know you are going to get at least 50k MQMs next year, then go for it, and enjoy it!

On the other hand - you mention your husband has no status. If you reach PM, then you can gift him FO.
