My claim is based on this simple statement.
Travelers with 175,000 MQMs should be treated differently from those with 125,000 MQMs.

We treat those with 50,000 differently than those with 25,000 so why not .......

My plan would allow the 175,000 - call it Double Diamond (DD) or whatever - flyers to elect to have the DD status or they could elect to remain DM and allow more MQMs to roll over.

Perks for DD would be very similar to DM. The obvious difference would be that the DD passengers clear first.

You could also get "fake DD" by buying implants on your Delta AmEx... :D

Yes, I'm sure DDs are very perky. Plus free drinks anywhere you go and no waiting in any lines.

Unfortunately, I'm sure that DDs will always get "enhanced" TSA screening! ;)

(Oh, and of course no guys can qualify for DD status. :cool:)

So then if you hit 225,000 you get DDD status, ridiculous, it has to stop somewhere.

No, you just have to stop rollover and stop giving away MQMs for anything other then flying. You will strangely see the DM ranks deflate....

Sounds like someone is going to hit 175k this year...

I would settle for status program where status was determined solely by miles/segs earned by actually FLYING, not all this spend-related stuff.

Stop giving this stuff away....or make it revenue based and let those that contribute the most to the bottom line get the most in return.

Your proposed low tier is a bit high considering what you get in return. A LOT of people travel 100% and fly 50+ RTs per year, but don't hit 100k. FOs don't even have access to elite security lines.

I could see it being as high as 40k for FO and 80k for GM. Or maybe just drop 25k off of each of your tiers.

Maybe mine are high, but if they adjusted thresholds, they could add perks back into FO. There are a lot of FO's paying a TON of money to get there on short runs in the midwest/southeast. However, there are a lot getting their status with very little spend and very little that is "elite" about their travel/spending habits.

EVERYBODY wants a program that is tailored to their needs and their needs only, and everybody ELSE should be somehow excluded.

E.g. I think only TATL and intra-EU flights in Y should count as MQMs. Everybody with an AMEX card should only get middle seats, random downgrades and pay $800 for the first checked bag. No carry-ons either. :p
