The length of this flight does not permit service in the main cabin.....ESPECIALLY when the new issue of People magazine is released.
It's fun to look at old OAG's from the late 80's. NW served meals in F from MSP-DTW, snacks in F DTW-ORD (and many similarly-staged flights). Now, you can't get a cup of water on the CR2 to MDW from DTW. |

Full drink and snack service on AZO-DTW on NWA DC9s :) Ah the old days. Do they do a service on FNT-DTW? That's a short flight.
I remember flying NW and TW from LAX-SAN in 1989 NW flew D10, and TW flew L10's. Both did an "express" drink service (limited selection coke/diet/water/oj). |
I just flew DTW to FNT a couple weeks ago. 12 minute flight wheels up to touchdown. :) Not sure an FA could even do water at that time.

I'm 6'5", and I honestly don't mind squeezing into any size plane, as long as it doesn't say ASA on the side. Only good things could come from dumping these guys out of the DL Connection network.

In all honesty, I can only fit in bulkheads and exit rows. Even in those seats, if the pax in front of me reclines I do not have enough room to avoid a dislocated kneecap on any Delta plane. |

I'm 6'5" too... maybe we should start a union!

Seriously, the worst is people who recline to the point where my knees are poking into their backs, and then try to glare at me as if I'm doing it on purpose. |

Tall people are the group most heavily discriminated against by the airline industry :D
I'm not a frequent flyer by far but have to fly to visit family four times a year. With the industry squeezing every penny out of a seat with extra leg room it hurts (literly). On some airlines there IS NO room between my knees and the seat in front. The person in front of me will not be relcine. I've gotten into arguments that I've been told to remove my bag from under the seat in front and put my legs there. Very uncomfortable. And then there is the argument that I should have to pay for two seats or pay for coach/first class because of my size and/or that I limited others from there full use of their seat. Will the industry come up with a policy on reclining equal to Southwest's one on wide persons, where if the arm rest can't come down you have to buy two seats? If a person can't recline will I have to purcahse the seat in front of me? Sorry, will get off soap box... |
The aluminum from planes is not the same as beer/pop cans, but I get the analogy ;)

I haven't been keeping very good track of this, but is there any news about when the CRJ-100s will be retired? I just came back from a trip that consisted of a CRJ-100 and a CRJ-700, and the comfort difference is staggering. The FA told me that "everyone here can't wait to get rid of these things."
