Sounds like they did. :D

Gotta get to that 70% sold FC and protect Suit Ego somehow. :D:D

Another example of classy folks attracted by FCM?

Departing from ATL today...

1C boarded... obviously impaired. Struggled to find how to store backpack in overheads.

Taxied away from gate.

Meanwhile 1C is bragging to 1D how he has just snorted 3 lines of coke and how he is going to blow up the airplane.

Taxied back to the gate where 1C is escorted off the plane... "assisted" by a DL pilot who had come to the front from coach.

Onward and upwards to the 70% paid FC...

I will continue to maintain that the probability of decorous behavior is greater from someone with 2MM miles in his flight history... compared to someone who had an additional $19 in his pocket.

BTW... FAs who asked the pilot to return to the gate each got a JWD certificate... and will be praised in a soon to be sent e-mail too DL.

Did the Coke snorter get escorted or the guy next to him? I'm confused

Haha. Are you seriously making the argument that this process is flawed because Medallion members are of a more supreme cultural level than non-Medallion? Maybe you're on to something, we can further rank (elite) status by highest-level education completed, ethnicity (white), and income? Maybe the airlines can offer one flight per day to major cities that are restricted to only folks that have a Bachelors degree or better?

I get the frustration with FCM so I'm assuming you were being a little sarcastic. . Personally it's good for me, at least with Delta since I don't have status but I think the airlines would be smart to somehow have a streamlined first offer process for elites and offer a clear discount for elites to buy up vs non-elites (say 50%). Unfortunately, I think the days of the majority of F seats being given to elites is going to continue to die slowly and I don't think there is anything that can be done about it because what are you going to do, fly WN?

I guess he didn't have coke and a smile.

Not sure bragging about the coke high gets one booted off a plane in LA, :), but threats to blow up a plane is "game over" in any city.

Thank you... have made the correction. ^

It was indeed 1C who had to make the "stagger of shame." :D

Not a lot of personal frustration. I am grabbing every low FCM offer I can. Waiting for Va Ave to figure that they have hooked enough folks on the low cost FC crack and then burst the bubble by jacking up FCM prices.

Perhaps a bit of sarcasm... aimed at those in the TH3 crowd who used to preach that FC would be nirvana as soon as enough seats became paid FC seats... before RA pulled the rug out from under their theory by offering $19 FCM upgrades.

But, I am seeing increased numbers of folks for whom it appears that they are having their first FC experience. More coats taking up space in the overheads. More folks asking to have the drinks menu repeated for them. And (call it elitist if you want) more boorish behavior, but perhaps not as bad as 1C above... who, I am quite confident, was not there as DM.

And, according to past theories, more paid FC was going to improve the typical demeanor in FC. :D

As much as I hate FCM, I will buy fares sometimes just for the SDC flexibility and 50% bonus MQMs.

I remember the posts about how much better FCM was going to be with more paid customers than the "freeloading elites mooching upgrades" and I still haven't seen it.

Last Friday when I flew DTW/LGA there was a guy waiting to board that was bragging the price difference between coach and first class was less than what it would have cost him to check his two bags (I'm sure RA fails to mention to the stockholders that the luggage fees would have been more than the first class fare difference if the guy was telling the truth which he probably was). He sat in the aisle seat across from me and was obviously his first time sitting in first class. He put his coat in the bin and was surprised that the flight attendant was hanging them. He seemed surprised that the FA was doing the jacket service before doing a PDB and had a gin and tonic and then asked for a second one and then gulped that down and asked for a third and the FA said they were getting ready to close the door and would get him one in the air. He didn't appear drunk but after two more in the air the FA told him he had four drinks in less than an hours time and wasn't allowed to serve him. The really funny thing is when we were on the ground he asked the flight attendant what the meal choices were and was shocked there wasn't a meal service on a DTW/LGA flight LOL. Not only did Delta lose out on two checked bags but also lost on drink revenue

Those posts were arrogant delusions. Sometimes people want to see something in a certain way, that they forget the world doesn't operate exactly how they see it.

and in a great deal of marketing, they conveniently ignore key aspects of those differences, and hope that the target audience is so captivated by the "enhancements" that they miss the blips also

How to (not) generate return FCM business

MSY to ATL...

After PDB, as we are taxiing out, lead FA announces "There are six of you drinking Woodfords. That is all we have on board. They only give us two bottles per cart. There is no more Woodfords available."

This is probably the 3rd or 4th time I have heard this 3/cart, 6 total BS. Typically on out and back flights to ATL.

Snack basket finally gets passed after the "We are making our approach into ATL announcement."

Contents... peanuts, pretzels, and Biscoff... nothing else.

And, this is supposed to convince folks that FC is some worth paying extra for?

Whatever the suits on Va Ave are smoking... can I have some?

I bit for the first time on a FCM fare. My SO and I booked a P fare to DEN for $90 more than the main cabin fare we wanted to book. We mainly booked the P fare due to the ease of SDC, and its sorta a transcon flight.

I witnessed what might be the ultimate example of FCM yesterday waiting to board in ATL. A lady walked up to the GA and asked how much it would be for the four of them (husband and two kids with her) to upgrade to FC. GA said it's $319 per person. She said she would take it. They had all of row one for the flight to SJU. Those were some expensive Miller Light's she and husband had on the flight.
