How could someone not have snatched up the “DYKWIA” screen name before now???
Regardless, something about OP's post feels wrong… I smell a rat. |
Assuming it is not a troll...
OK, I have read the message exchanges below with DontYouKnowWhoIAm
Since it seems to be feeding the troll, I've deleted the posting here, as s/he do not seem to need constructive advise, but are looking to rant. Let's lock this one and ideally, delete it for good. |

I was flying a transcontinental flight from LAX to MEM. The club in question was LAX. As a Gold Elite I should have access to all elite services so there is no need to be a member. There was also a mistake on my ticket. I was booked in a premium class and ended up with a seat in the back of the plane (around row 24). This is not elite treatment in my mind and I am going to be contacting AMEX about possibly bringing legal action. I pay good money (extra) to use the AMAEX card and so far I have received nothing but low-class treatment. :td::td::td::td::td:
LOL though, keep them coming OP, they are entertaining |
What amazes me is how gullible many FT members are in taking OP seriously, and how much the OP resembles other rant posts that are not meant to be satirical.

Two questions:
What is IBTL? Did Memphis move to the Atlantic coast or did the continental boundaries change so that the continent now ends at the Mississippi? |

Hi,
Welcome to flyertalk. The nickname does raises some concerns, but I'd take it at face value: (a) Flight cancellation led you to be sent to the incorrect place for rebooking- instead of the SP line, they sent you to the club. Club membership is not part of GM, unless you were flying on international ticket. (b) You can send DM message on twitter to @deltaassist with your confirmation number and they can help. Good and fast! (c) you can call the gold medallion line at the back of your card. I made my way up the medallion ranks, and I have to say the GM was very good to me! (d) You can email through "contact us" online at delta.com IRROPS are part of the game. I am sorry it hurt you this time, and hope next travel plans would work better. DLroads, for a change at home PS- and welcome to FT, note: your nickname would draw attention |
To the OP,
If you are for real, welcome to FT. If you are joking, then congratulations on the best troll-type post in a long time. Please refer to the reply by WScottsdaleInsider. He gave you all the advice you need. Bottomline, Gold is good, but it basically on gets you only four things: 1. Double miles 2. Better response on Delta reservation lines 3. Space-available upgrades on domestic flights 4. Access to Skyteam lounges when flying Skyteam INTERNATIONAL flights. The Delta lounge at LAX is a Skyteam lounge. I've used it before being a Diamond or having a membership, BUT I was flying overseas. Otherwise, access to Delta lounges (and the agents inside the lounges) is only for Diamonds (125,000 MQM's) or people with purchased access (such as the annual membership). Sorry, but lots of trashy looking people fly 125,000 miles a year. (Please see my user info to the left.) Nobody cares how nice you look. |
Is Premium Gold any different than Regular Gold?
Regardless, I too suspect a rat. The OP can't be serious. If the OP is serious, please share with us how you can tell someone is not a SC member by how they are dressed. |

This really changes my opinion of both Delta airlines and AMEX. Firstly I was in an elite fare class (E) so I should have had automatic re-booking to F anyway. As I understand it premium economy fares are automatically booked into First Class if any seat is available. I saw on the seat map there were at least 3 seats available. Secondly all I have is my AMEX card. there is no number on it to call for elite ticket re-bookings. Thirdly I can understand charging non elite member for a "club" but I am a Gold Elite member. They should have taken care of my ticket and just let me take some cookies or something. Lastly I was told that there is a special Elite line that will take care of things like this. I provided my cell number in the profile (both my credit card profile and the delta profile) and they did not call. All of that wasted time waiting for a call is probably why I did not get first class. As an Elite Gold customer I would think they would do their best to impress me. NOT impressed Delta!:td::td::td::td::td:
There is no elite class "E". Premium economy is something else, and it has no priority or entitlement for rebooking into F. Sorry you were inconvenienced. but the lounge agents are very protective of who does and does not have access. Not surprising to me that they would not help you or offer sympathy cookies. Nothing personal, but it's only to maintain the exclusivity of the lounge. That special elite number is on the back of your Gold Skymiles card. However, if you did not have it, and call the general Delta reservations line, I believe your call gets routed correctly as soon as you key in you Skymiles account info. If you want to say Amex sucks, go ahead. I'm not going to disagree with you. |

For Sky Club admittance policies you can refer to this site:
http://www.delta.com/traveling_check...ions/index.jsp However, LAX-MEM even in paid First as a gold does not warrant access therefore the agents would not be able to assist you. I am sorry you are not impressed with Delta. Perhaps you should check out United or American. It doesn't look as if Delta will satisfy your travel needs. |
