Thanks for the info.

As I have said in the past and will say again, free airline food is nothing to write home about. I certainly won't buy it either. A little pre-planning and one can eat better and cheaper otherwise.

So DL increases the payment I'd receive for eating them?

(Was just a useless note on the quality of DL on board food)

Delta can charge whatever prices they want, I have never bought or will ever buy anything from their EATS menu, I always buy a snack or sandwich from a vendor in the terminal, this way I can choose and select something that is more healthier and filling than the stuff they sell on board for about the same price.

If there is a Subway, Quiznos or Port of Call sandwich shop in the terminal, I have something made up to my tastes, or I will even stop before getting to the airport and pick up a sandwich and take it with me on board. I have a flexible 6 pack size collapsible insulated cooler that can hold a foot long sub, cut in half and a bag of chips with room to spare, it is legal to carry on board and is exempt from the 2 carry on limit. When empty it folds up flat and takes up hardly any room in my carry on. A lot of times I will even bring a sandwich and a bag of snacks from home to eat on the outbound leg unless I know before hand that I will be upgraded and a meal is being served.

In the cooler I carry a quart size zip lock bag, if needed I keep ice in it and dump the ice before security and I always can get ice from a vendor of the SC after security to keep the sandwich cold, I ask them I need ice to keep medicine cold, works every time. I have carried sandwich’s safely for over 6 hours this way.

Did they lower the price of the breakfast sandwich? Or should it say new price $7.50?

What is this new PB&J Kids Pack? It actually sounds more palatable than the stuff I've seen on the Eats menu.

FWIW, I've always found the EATS grub to be pretty good...you definitely get what you pay for. It's definitely a leg up over AA and UA's options (fresh food, etc.) which I've found to be pretty bad in general, especially when you consider how much you paid for them. The Chicken Caprese sandwich DL had a few years back was especially good!

+1. Being "better" than the bottom of the barrel isn't saying much. Bad, worse or worst?!?

And with the rodent droppings recently spotted on DL planes, I don't need more than I pay for :D

The fruit and cheese platter is actually pretty decent...it is REAL cheese too...
;)

Do the Have One on Us coupons cover snack boxes?

Sure do. No sandwiches or cheese plates, though.

If you do not want to eat airline food, more power to you.

But what is this carry on ....?

You want your portable fridge in addition to 2 carry ons?

You are entitled to a carry on (like a roller) and a hand bag. Not a roller, a backpack, a purse and a cooler.

Technically not the cheese and fruit, since coupons say "non perishable snack", but I've used them for that before. I've never tried to get a sandwich since that is more of a meal item than a snack.

On many flights the FAs just gather the coupons as they hand out drinks and snacks and then scan the coupons in the galley after they do the service.
