Ironically, just had a pasta meal, almost comparable to DL FC for $6 on AS. Drinks are $6 as well... Fun perspective on a transcon :D

Absent an F upgrade though, EATS values are decent, and i've ofund the quality good...

Read the regulations, a small bag of food to eat on the flight is allowed and exempt from the 2 item limit, as is carrying on outerwear, books, pillows, infant safety seats, diaper bags or medical equipment.

And as I posted, what I carry on is small 6 pack size insulated bag, not a large cooler, and it is legal to carry on, and only once have I ever been questioned, and it was a few years ago by a gate dragon before getting on the air train at TPA, who said it was a third item, but when I told her it was a food bag, she said it was okay.

Delta's BOB option is actually not bad when you consider at airports such as JFK the cost of food in the terminal. While I often bring food with me as it is the cheapest option and I never have to worry about my preferred choice being taken it is not always possible if I am going straight from work or a meeting to the airport. If I am transiting through ATL I will stop by Paschal's in Terminal A as, for the portion size, it is actually not a bad value as far as airport food goes

Nice thing too with AS F, if the meal service has been completed in coach,(and there's some left) one can obtain Northern Bites meal free of charge. Can help on transcons.

If you really want to see inflation in the cost of BOB food, then let DL start accepting SkyPiles for it! That will make the price, at least in miles, really go through the roof.

I will often buy one, even when in F, to have something to nibble on with the wine. Can't understand why anyone would be against the EATS program.

People are against it because they're not happy unless they have something to complain about.

Personally, I think the program is great. After a long day at work and a rush to the airport, I don't have time to grab a bite before departure. I don't think I've had a bad sandwich yet, nor have I gotten sick from them.

I've bought several items from EATS and have never been disappointed. The lack of choice isn't a problem because I know what's being served ahead of time. If it sounds good then that saves me a stop at an airport restaurant. My only complaint is the menu has been simplified over time and used to include a greater variety of fresh items such as salads or chef-inspired meals, and it would be nice to have those options again.
