No problems here either....

Have done 2 Shuttle roundtrips (mostly over the weekend) since the new rules and haven't had any issues. Only noticeable difference was a secondary search of my carryon for one of the flights; otherwise, all flights on time or early.

I will be traveling many times from LGA to DCA, which shuttle should I fly, US Airways or Delta? What is the difference besides for the time of the flights? Freq. Flyer which makes most sense to fly? Is one more comfterable then the other?

Tomorrow morning will be the real test for me give the local Wx expected to be heavy rain and wind.

Every LGA-DCA Shuttle Flight Has Cancelled So Far Today...

They have not cancelled 1:30 PM onward...I am thinking I should not take any chances and just take Amtrak (seats are still available).

Has anyone heard if they will be cancelling all Shuttle flights and/or when they expect to start releasing some Shuttle departures?

I heard on the radio this morning that DCA and IAD were closed to departures. IAD was going to open 1 runway for arrivals in an hour or so (this was at 8:30). I'm not sure about DCA. I would imagine the late afternoon Shuttles will be running. How smooth the operation will be is tough to say. Personally, assuming they are on time I'd take amtrak at this point.

When I went by DCA on the train this morning, the runway looked clear but the tarmac/taxiways still looked mostly snow covered.

That said, of the airlines I saw, only CO was actively deicing.

DCA reopened as of 10:30 this morning. Looks like one ATL bound flight took off, but thats it

Standby on DL Shuttle flights LGA-DCA on a discount ticket?

Can I stand by for a later flight on my DL Shuttle flight to DC today?

I know that US Air doesn't let cheaper tickets stand by for different flights.

Any experience? Thanks.

I was able to do an online, day-of-flight change a few Sundays ago on the LGA-BOS shuttle, with a $0.20 (?) change fee and none of that $25 day of flight change fee that they charge for mainline flights. Not sure if it would have worked for a later flight (I was originally on the last of the day), but give it a shot...

I just got weird and conflicting information from a DL call center rep (no standby, but can do the $25 fee)--I am going to head to the airport and see what happens.

Hope it worked out for you. Not breaking new ground by saying this, but I have had the distinct feeling in the past that the DL call center reps aren't always apprised of what's available through the website or through good old fashioned asking at the checkin counter. The Shuttle's always been the most flexible for changes. Enjoy...

A rep told me today no SDC but that I could standby on the shuttle LGA-DCA (I am a PM). So what's the real deal? Is standby allowed on a discount ticket? Is SDC allowed? I don't see why the shuttle could possibly be more restrictive than a regular flight.

Ok, not to confuse matters more but the detailed rules of the ticket I'm looking at say no standby, SDC is permitted, but ticket is only good between 7pm Friday and midnight Sunday. This makes it sound like you could SDC but only to a flight that isn't earlier that 7pm. Given that Delta's regular tickets say no standby (but there is still GM-PM exception), I think it can probably be done here as well.

I can confirm that SDC is permitted on the Shuttle flights according to your fare class/inventory. I had one of the "T" weekend Shuttle fares about two weeks ago, got to BOS early enough for the earlier flight and asked if I could get on...agent said that I could only if "T" was also available on the earlier flight...

TrojanTraveler Mar 23, 2007 10:24 am

I have generally found that they will not do same day SDC for free for Platinums during peak hours, which I know from NY in the afternoon are flights before 7pm, unless...you have bought a fare class that permits this. These are usually full fare-ish tickets and discounted corporate rates. I think the justification is that they often price the post 7pm shuttles lower, and they don't want someone buying that and then SDC onto a peak hour flight.
