I agree 1A can get a little cold at times, and the other A seats have enough room for me at least.

Another advantage to 1A... you can watch to see whether your gate checked luggage is brought down from the air bridge.

Can't see it actually loaded onto the plane, but at least you can see it get that far.

(From someone whose luggage did not make it one day.)
