Best Cruise Line for SIngle?
Does anyone know anyone that has taken a singles cruise? I've never been on a cruise and would like to try it. I see the major cruise lines have "solo" fares available but I mean a ship/cruise line really dedicated to single men and women. Does such a cruise line exist? Living in Dallas I have fairly easy access to ports like Galveston, Houston, Miami even.

I know Atlantis rents out ships and produces huge all-singles cruises. The guys I know who have gone on them have loved them.

Since the OMNI's are for non-travel topics, we're going to move this thread to the Cruises Forum.

And in particular, the sub-forum on Singles Cruises :) https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=139 Also look at lots of other topics, from different cruise lines to Ports of Call. And... once you've found a cruise, also follow the Roll Call for others on that specific cruise. Many times they arrange land excursions together, and also sali-away parties or other gettogethers on board. Enjoy! GC |
Drinks on a cruise are super expensive.
i hate cruises that advertise from $1000 and you think wahoo. In reality you need to pay $5000 for a decent room as their example is for quad share at the worst part of the ship. |

Been on FT for 15 years and now just realized there is a cruise forum. Go figure. |

Some cruise lines have single person cabins. I think Norwegian (or is it Royal Caribbean?) has single cabins that even have their own singles lounge.
Oh, and there's also cruisecritic.com I'm on there, but I check here too because the people on CC tend not to know much about flying to the cruise. |
Crystal cruiselines. Has a big market for singles.

What sort of age demographic are you looking for, enviroian ?
Unmarried singles in their 30s (or 20s 😈 )? Divorcees in their 40s and 50s? Widows in their 60s to 80s? If you want 30s and some 40s (a more hard drinking crowd) and aren't looking for luxury, check out Carnival weekend cruises out of Miami and Long Beach (LA) to the Bahamas and Baja Mexico, respectively. I think Carnival - Galveston has mostly 4+ day cruises to the western Caribbean, so those would probably be more popular during late winter/early spring or summer, when people take a week vacation from office jobs. I guess the question is what your motivation is. Is it mostly to hang out with fun, available people? How luxurious do you need it? Do you want to meet people who live in the Dallas/Houston corridor? If you meet someone great, are you willing to do an LDR? And that begs the question, if you really are just looking to hang with fun people on vacation, would a Club Med on some island or in Mexico be better? Would a Contiki tour? etc. etc. Or do you strongly favor being on the water? |

Some of the ships are now having (not great) rooms for singles but most still charge for 2 |
I believe if you can book through the casino some lines wave the single surcharge. A friend had that on NCL but he spends a ton of time dropping coin.
