That is odd if you goto BOA web page and look at the terms of any of there cards there is no limit to amount of points you can earn.
Just so you know I personal dislike World points just as much as TYP. I dislike both programs. But atleast I dont go around posting flase information to try to make a point. anyone else would like to see it -- pls pm me.... |
BTW, I got this card in MID MAY -- The 90k cap might be new....call and check your cards....
It says very clearly in the little booklet that comes with the card....on the first pageas well as in the T&C's on the back page..... |
B of A is :td::td:
why cant I pay my credit card bill online from a non bofa account.(without using that sub par third party web site they set up). I thought this was a standard feature of any credit card online service. |

http://flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=529921 What I do recall is that when Citi introduced the online booking option there were people who used it and redeemed more points because they did not understand the difference between the Fixed and Variable Flight options. |

mia, thanks for pointing this out to Dolmar. Dolmar, I know you are not a fan of either TYP or WorldPoints but in this respect (no max value on TYP redemptions) Citi is far superior to BOA/WorldPoints. A $400 cap on a ticket is very limiting especially for peak season travel.
Yeah I dislike both TYP and Worldpoints programs. I just think both are pretty close to each maybe I am wrong who knows. What I do know for sure if Citibank gives you opertunities to earn more than 1 point per dollar thus making the rewards a better bang for your buck. But I really thought the reward structure were same basically. |

I dont know I been looking both on Fatwallet.com and here. I know I remember around xmas people were complaining about how they were forced to pay spend more TYP for there flights maybe you both are correct it was people using the fixed rate option who knows.

What I do know for sure if Citibank gives you opertunities to earn more than 1 point per dollar thus making the rewards a better bang for your buck. But I really thought the reward structure were same basically. 1. Many cards earn more than one point per $. I earn 2+ per $ on all of my Chairman spending. Just buying gas every two weeks, I earn $40 x .02 points/$ x 26 weeks per year = 6,240 points per year. The earning rate is excellent. 2. The fixed point travel reward option is better than worldpoints, per the above. Its not perfect, but it is better in many cases than trying to book a coach fare in an airline reward program. 3. The merchandise rates are pretty good. I know that this is flyertalk heresy. However, I have enough airline points and hotel miles. I use my TYP for gift certificates and consumer stuff. 4. As an example, I purchased a Tumi computer brief via Citi for approx 32,000 points. It is worth $360 incl tax. Given that my spend was approximately $14,000 to earn these points my reward rate was 2.5% or so. I know that it has some deficiencies but it works for me. |

MIA, FWIW, I just had my (essentially dormant and unused) BofA PLAT VISA "enhanced" (migrated) to a BofA WorldPoints M/C card.
Besides the unusual aspects of the V being migrated to M/C (I knew Citibank got into a spat w/ V a few years ago and migrated all of my C-bank cards to M/C) , and this being a no-annual-fee "feeless" affinity card (a rare combination in my experience), I am wondering how BofA "got to me" on this ? I was naturally leery and I think could have declined the "migration", but proceed to activate the new card. "Enhancements", as we all know, are 99.9999% of the time DIS-enhancements for the consumer and tilted only to the card-issuer. But - this seems like a genuine (albeit slight) enhancement, since I don't plan to accumulate much in the worldpoints program per se. =================================== Q to you: any quick opinions of the worldpoints program ? I see mixed opinions on it in this thread, but if the $750 CAP for a domestic 25K award is true, this actually is more liberal than my USAA Eagle Points program whcich caps at $500 for a 25K (and $500 these days is limiting), BOTH still having 21-day advance and SAT stayover rules in place. Any quick ideas of what this migration is doing (presumably adding more gotchas, trick clauses, etc) on the card side ? FYI - I am still moving heavily away from my starwood AMEX now and focusing strictly on 2% cash back via my Sam's Club Discover card(s). An almost-pure 2% w/ $1M CAP per account is about as strong a card as I have found for cash-back, including superior to Costco's cash-back program. Starwood really upset the apple cart for me w/ their Feb 28, 2007 devaluation, and I am still stinging w/ my balances at that time being devalued by as much as 25-35% (my calculations), so lesson learned (don't get too deep into any program). But thought I would ask your opinion on worldpoints. TIA P.S. Don't mean to hijack this thread, but in this "all other" folder its tough to follow specific threads. |
