Hard pull for Bank of America checking account?
For the Alaska Visa card:
Does Bank of America do a hard pull on your credit for opening such a checking account? I would expect a soft pull at a minimum.
- Relationship Bonus: A 10% rewards bonus on all miles earned from card purchases with an open, eligible Bank of America checking, savings or investment account.

If you're opening a checking account now, make sure you use a link with a $100 signup bonus. (It's publicly available from a google search)
If you're not in a hurry, occasionally you'll see a public or targeted $300 offer.

Thank you for your suggestions. I also poked around on the net and came across someone who rather convincingly stated Bank of America uses ChexSystems for bank accounts while someone else equally convincingly stated it's a soft pull, likely from Experian.
And that was good enough for me given the minuscule chance for a hard pull. So I opened an Advantage Plus checking account this morning out of curiosity and ran the four reports. Three on annualcreditreport.com and one on chexsystems.com.
There was no trace of Bank of America anywhere. Inquiries are in real time, so maybe because my credit had already been checked getting the Alaska card earlier on, I dont know.
