Questions About Transfer Partners

Hi! I have a few basic questions about transfer partners for programs like Amex Membership Rewards and Chase Ultimate Rewards...

1) Is there any website that compiles the award charts for all the different transfer partners, including for those transfer partners that have different award charts for different airlines?

2) What website or tool do folks use when trying to compare transfer partner options for a flight route? (Evaluating your options program by program can be a bit time consuming!)

3) Are there newsletters, online forums, or other resources that folks recommend for getting timely information on transfer partner point promotions?

4) Do Amex, Chase, and their transfer partners generally require you to have an account already set up with the transfer partner *before* a transfer is made?

Thanks in advance for your help and guidance!

This thread will point you to some sites that are helpful, and also explain why more comprehensive sites do not exist (some airlines now use dynamic pricing and no longer publish redemption charts): https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/trav...d-flights.html

American Express has a tool that will allow you to create a new frequent flier account with a transfer partner, but I generally prefer to do this myself. Note that some airlines are not enthusiastic about non-customers who transfer the full amount needed for an award ticket.

Thanks, Mia. Are there newsletters, online forums (in addition to FlyerTalk), or other resources that folks recommend for getting timely information on transfer partner point promotions?

Award hacker

Awardhacker.com shows how many miles each airline charges for a flight and transfer partners

No, as explained by others.

Also no. The problem is award inventory. To make this simple - A program may have AAA-BBB availability. But it does not mean B program has AAA-BBB. Because many secure the inventory (i.e. hold) before transferring, the award inventory dictates your transfer option.

Also no, especially some offers are targeted.

Yes. You will be asked to link your account before transfer. Also, as stated above, most transfers are done when award inventory has been secured. Without an account, airlines won't hold the award for you.
