Personal Card
Click here to get the same offer (see below) with the annual fee waived the first year. First try entering code 999999 in the box at the top of the page. Apparently this offer is from an AA employee selling the card inflight, but it seems to be open to everyone. But publishing that employee's code online could get the employee in trouble. If 999999 doesn't work, use employee code 356467. Note: You will NOT get a $99 Companion Certificate as part of your bonus when the annual fee is waived.
Language from the web offer page: Anniversary Companion Certificate: Each anniversary year; earn a Companion Certificate good for 1 guest at $99 (plus taxes and fees) after spending $20,000 on purchases and your account remains open for 45 days after your anniversary date. There is NO LANGUAGE in this offer regarding a "complimentary" companion certificate.

AAdvantage Aviator Red World Elite Mastercard
1. 70K offer https://cards.barclaycardus.com/cred...0-8f2f74651285 DEAD

2. 60,000 bonus miles and $99 Companion Certificate after first purchase and paying the $99 annual fee
Offer landing page: https://cards.barclaycardus.com/card...astercard.html

The offer fine print:
The primary cardmember will earn sixty thousand (60,000) AAdvantage® bonus miles after a purchase is made on the card account within ninety (90) days of card account opening and the annual fee has been paid. Please allow 4-6 weeks for the AAdvantage®bonus miles to be deposited into your AAdvantage® account. Balance transfers and cash advances do not qualify as purchases. This offer may be canceled at any time without notice.

In addition to the sixty thousand (60,000) AAdvantage® bonus miles, the primary cardmember will earn one (1) domestic economy fare American Airlines introductory Companion Certificate redeemable for one (1) companion ticket at $99 (plus taxes and fees) after a purchase is made on the card account within ninety (90) days of card account opening and the annual fee has been paid. Please allow 8-10 weeks for delivery of the Companion Certificate after the qualifying purchase has posted to your card account and the annual fee has been paid. Balance transfers and cash advances do not qualify as purchases. This offer may be canceled at any time without notice.

This one-time offer is valid for eligible cardmembers. You may not be eligible for this offer if you currently have or previously had an account with us in this program.
There are data points indicating that this is not always enforced: See posts 439, 496, 514, 516, 517, 538, 835

As of Sept. 2017, most people applying for an Aviator card are being denied, "instantly" by a computer, if they already have an Aviator card open. As of Dec. 2017, most people applying for an Aviator card are being denied, even by recon, if they already have an Aviator card open. It had been that current and previous Aviator Red (US Airways Converted) cardmembers were not subject to the 24-month restriction. This seems to have changed as far as current card holders applying for a second, concurrent card. (See posts #185, 193, 194, 195, 198, 199, 211, 220, 247, 290, 527, 529, 532)

Sign Up Bonus Info:
It appears that if your SUB includes the $95 AF (annual fee), Barclays doesn't post the AF until the 2nd statement. Thus, it will be a min. of 2 statements before you see your SUB points. This is only if the SUB requires the AF (as opposed to some SUBs that just have the $x,xxx in purchases with no AF).

There have been at least two cases in July 2023 where Barclays posted the AF prior to the first statement. In both of those cases, the cardholder paid the AF and other balance prior to the closing date. The SUB was issued as of the first statement for one these accounts. It may be the second one was too close to the closing date.

Posting of points from Barclays SUB to AA seem to take 3-7 days after the SUB posts on the Barclays Statement.

I presume you've made your "first purchase" already? You didn't mention that, as far as I can see. The "first purchase" is a necessary requirement for getting the 60k, it's not a necessary requirement for getting billed the $95 AF.
Sorry if I didn't mention it, but yes I did. I didn't just make one purchase, I made a few, which I hope doesn't disqualify me from getting the 60k bonus. But it's also mentioned that you need to pay the AF to get the bonus as well.

Does it use the Barclaycard app. like the other Barclays credit cards?

How long after first purchase have people been getting the miles credited?

After billing cycle? After payment?

Finally got approved for this card, nearly 2 MONTHS after applying. Not a great first impression from Barclay's.
They took foreeeever to process my identity verification documents. I must've called their recon line like 6 times checking whether they had processed them yet and today they finally did. Asked me some questions about my old address and then approved me with no further issue.

How long before they charged you the AF?

I've had the card for a couple of weeks now, no AF showing on my account.

I believe it shows up on the last day of the month that you get the card. So for March, that will be Mar 31st. What folks have done in the past, if their statement closed before the end of the month since it was a short first month, was to pay the bill plus an additional amount to cover the annual fee. You don't have to get billed the fee to pay it off and it's the processing of the fee payment on your statement that satisfies the "paying the annual fee" part of the bonus requirement.

edit: I just remembered, I think you also have to pre-pay the bill and fee before the first statement cuts so that your fee payment shows on that statement.

Is the requirement still 24 mo the after closing the old US Airways card?

I had the old US Air aviator card that got converted to AA and then closed it. It’s now been 24 months. Will I be eligible for the 60k bonus?

Got my card on March 5th, and my closing statement was yesterday. Looked at my statement, & there was no annual fee on it. Called them about a week ago & the representative said I should see it before this statement. Another one said I should see it before the end of this month. Called today & they said they don't see in their system yet when the annual fee will show up. Very disappointed, because was hoping to book a business class flight to Amsterdam at the end of July. Looks like I probably won't get the bonus miles in time. Starting to feel like it's a scam....

Its not a scam. It took about 6 weeks or so for my bonus miles to show up. Just like what it says to expect in the offer terms and conditions.

It usually shows up on the last day of the month that you get the card. Since you got it on the 5th and it closed the 25th, the fee will be on the 2nd statement.

Currently have the AA Citi platinum select card, and I guess applying for this card and receiving the bonus miles will not be a problem as it is two different banks.

Also, does Barclays claw back the bonus offer if I cancel my card before the next AF is due? Asking this as I know that AMEX are quite stingy with bonus offers for the Delta cards if you cancel the card within the first year of account opening.

Is this Aviator Mastercard PIN priority like the Barclay's Arrival Plus?

Anyone try using it in Europe at unattended kiosks or such?

I don't think either of them are PIN priority.

I think you may be getting confused about PIN features and terminology.

What Aviator does have is both online PIN and offline PIN, for maximum PIN compatibility.

But it has signature priority, which is why you never get asked for PIN in the US, where signature (or nothing) is accepted. As opposed to the Diners Club USA cards, which are PIN priority, and will ask for the PIN at Wal-Mart among other places (perhaps only above a certain purchase amount).

All "priority" has to do with is what it does first, at a terminal which supports multiple methods of verification. Priority has no meaning if a terminal only supports one method of verification.

What is important is that some places overseas only support offline PIN, while other places only support online PIN. And that's why it's great that Aviator has both.

So Aviator works fine at European kiosks that accept international cards. Just be aware that in some countries in Europe (Denmark seems especially bad about this), some kiosks and manned registers only accept credit cards issued locally, no credit cards from overseas no matter what the technology. So neither an Aviator card nor a Diners Club USA card will help in those situations, while I haven't yet found a situation where the Aviator card didn't work but the Diners Club USA card did work. (My Diners Club USA "Professional" card has FTF overseas, so I don't reach for it first at kiosks there.)

Just adding a churning data point - 2 years is definitely safe. I canceled this card in October, 2016. Applied online today using the 60K offer and was instantly approved with a fairly small limit ($5K).

Does Barclay care? Thought it was just Chase that cares.
